He was the first black President of the United States. I'm sure in his mind he's already written his legacy so why bother trying too hard? At least that's what I chalk it up to when he refuses to act competently but then again I'm Canadian and have my own group of fucktards to worry about--like the new mayor of Toronto.

EDIT:
I should probably note that I don't hate Obama just he doesn't seem to try/fight as hard as he could. Maybe it's bitterness on my end from your last elections.

Can't even be bothered since I'm too worried about my own country's state atm. Health care going up, dental plan goes out, using a bank card is gonna be more expensive, if I were to take longer than an extra year on my study I'd be flat broke, I won't have free public transportation when I were to do a study after this one + no study finance (scholarship).

Here in America we have health care for everyone... Just a lot of liberals like to make it out like the poor are dying on the street... I grew up in poverty... My mom had 4 boys before she was 21 and we didn't have a father, so no real income. Yet we got to go to the doctors and use the hospitals(and with 4 boys there were quite a few broken bones)... America has some of the best health care around. I agree we need reform, but not a single payer system. We've seen time after time how government run health care turns out. I have insurance, but after pumping like 350 dollars a month into it. I cant afford to use it. So when I do use it I have crazy bills everywhere. Yet just down the street a couple of years ago, a couple who COULD have had insurance through both their work, but chose not to, got the birth of their child paid for completely by the hospital. Its not that the health care isnt there, its just that its very corrupt.

Exactly, we need reform, but not an overhaul to a new system. I don't even use my insurance unless its a hospital trip. My doctor just lets me pay the bill there. It's way cheaper than if he bills the insurance too. I had a doctor at the hospital explain to me once why if it goes through insurance the hospital gets more money than if the person just paid it there. I didn't believe it until my aunt was having a surgery done and they showed her how much they were billing her insurance company compared to how much it would have cost her to pay it that day.

if thats the case. she should have taken the copy of what they "would have charged her" let it go to insurance and send them that info. that it insurance fraud and insurance companies will pay good to catch that shit.

I don't know if it was so much of insurance fraud as it was "fees" but it was a smaller hospital so who knows, might have been.

Places tend to charge the insurance companies more so that they can charge the people without insurance less.

All of Obama's political capital was spent on Obamacare. The Democrat-only meetings. The payoffs to Nebraska, Louisiana and others. Not allowing more than a few days review of a 2000+ page bill. The failed plan to pass, then amend, after the GOP win in Mass. Etc. Etc.

Congratulations. We now have Obamacare. But at what cost? So many bridges burned, not just with politicians on the other side of the aisle who were alienated, but clearly with the entire electorate, who used the last election to register their anger.

Yes we have health care for everyone, but not insurance. You got to go to hospitals because it is required by law for hospitals to treat you...paying for it is another story. Paying for it is what health care insurance does. Many private companies are corrupt and like to deny and drop your coverage claims after the fact. In some areas of America coverage is dominated by these corrupt companies and there are no other options for healthcare insurance. Our recent "reforms" are riddled with loopholes (companies can pay fees, instead of covering everyone, which turns out to be more profitable). Why not create an public alternative ,instead of relying on corrupt companies?

(I'm not English, I moved from Canada and am currently being denied coverage/charged extremely high premiums on claims of my pre-existing coditions (chronic asthma + high blood pressure).
