The SAT Reasoning Test (formerly Scholastic Aptitude Test and Scholastic Assessment Test) is a standardized test for college admissions in the United States.

Do colleges require both? or only 1

I believe it depends on the college. But for the vast majority of them, you just need to take one. I think the ACT is more widely accepted. But I'm not sure about that.

In US SAT is accepted more then the ACT, main difference between the two, from what I heard since I have not taken the ACT, is that ACT concentrates more on what you learned in high school, while SAT is simply a reasoning test, and math on it is simple, yet tricky if you don't read the entire question.

btw took it today as well, first time, and i screwed up on the bubbling on my first section, other then that I think i got a good 700 in math, and probably 500-600s in writing and CR.

Where would you take the SAT at. And how long do you get to take it?

Go to Collegeboard.com to register for the sat and they will show you certain test centers in your city, its usually at schools ,or universities. And there are 10 sections and you get between 10-35 mins for each one, it totals down to about 4 hrs 30mins. Time isn't a big problem, but you have to manage it wisely.

That's it you Americans :x . Someone better explain me this "SAT/ACT" thing. People keep mentioning it but I have no idea what it really is. No, I don't want a link to a website.

Watch movies. dude.

It's like, the most important test American high school seniors take. It covers everything they've learnt over the past years and, with a good score on it, will help them get into some high college/university like Princeton, Yale, Harvard, Florida State(xD I know, rite?) easier because well, it proves they're damn smart.

Sorta like what we in the NL had in our last year of Elementary, deciding what level we should/could do in our High school.

Actually tbh it doesn't cover all that much on what we have learned. The math section is mediocre with only algebra, and geometry, and very little algebra 2/trig. The writing does cover a bit, and the reading is again stuff most high schools probably don't learn. It is just a reasoning test.
