I cant believe people are raging about the 2 guys kissing, I dont exactly like the sight of 2 guys being intimate but only the sight have nothing against the idea but they really need to get with the new ages and get a life

I didn't really like the song myself. I've never been a big Katty Perry fan though, so I'll ignore that for now.
What I really wanted to concentrate on is the idea of the teenage girl jumping in the pool. The entire concept behind it is breaking the boundaries of physicality and accepting each other for who we are. "You may he a little bit over weight, but it doesn't mean you shouldn't enjoy yourself and hide your body away". Truth be told she isn't even that big, honestly. She has a bit oh chubbiness, sure, but does it really justify the need for all of the fat jokes and QQ about her weight? If anything, the comments serve to contradict her song entirely, almost to say that there will be millions of people out there telling the same fat jokes about her, thus ruining your entire optimistic bullshit.
I would of liked it if the song wasn't some optimistic dribble spawned from pure fantasy and was actually a satirical play on reality. Like, when the guy is approached in the alley way, it would be been nice to actually see him get mugged and stabbed. And when the girl goes to jump in the pool, it would of been nice to see everyone just get out and leave. And the boy with cancer should of just died right on the spot. See, at least then it would be accurate and realistic. If this thread serves as a summary of the times, no matter how much we 'think' we are some unique spark in this world, some bastard is just going to shit all over your face anyway.
Oh, and she does too much moan singing. I hate moan singing.

I wanted to focus on this part and how spot on it is. I like the song for the way it sounds. I do not like the video for what it attempts to stand for.
Life isn't all marshmallows and rainbows. The chubby girl would have been made fun of, the gay guy would have been laughed at, etc.
