People who argue over Xbox360 v PS3 and PC v Mac...... are the biggest no lifers who gives a shit about them, I can see why maybe Mac v PC could be valid because of people who work with computers and need them to be there best but other then that no shutup

Isn't it illegal to install OSX on a non-mac computer? If so, argument invalid. If not, who cares what other people spend their money on? More competition, especially between platforms, is a great thing for us consumers.

Yes OSX is illegal on any other system besides a MAC.

(There is a site that tells a person the reasons on why the Mac OS is better on Mac Based computers w/ the Pros & Cons)

OT: I already see some flaws to whoever made that picture.

(i.e. whoever made the picture calculated the CPU differences wrong)

Apple was at the top of the list, and even a English teacher that knows jack shit about computers knows that Apple is overpricing their products

I'm used to Windows so I stick to using PCs. Macs are a bit overpriced but that's also because of the quality and consumer trust that comes with it. Personally I would rather assemble a good PC instead of buying a Mac but I'd be lying if I said I never considered buying from Apple while in the middle of processing 800MB photos (per image).

First day in my intro to engineering class I saw more macs than pc's. Decided it was time to stop giving a shit and let people waste their money if they want.

I agree with everyone saying that this is a worthless post. The last place I go to get opinions on technology is the internet. We also need to keep this internet free of arguments and disagreements and shit like that. The internet is good for only 3 things: checking my bank account, getting pie recipes and porn. Everything else needs to go. And pronto. You guys rock. Keep it up.

I made this thread for people to QQ over it (succeeded very well, and allow Mac vs. PC arguments spark, I gave my opinion, I was interested in others.) The internet is great for arguing, since we can almost say anything we choose, without real-life consequences (CWNBS[except for the true tards of the net) As long as people don't +1 their shit, flame, and actually contribute this can actually be a decent thread, I just started, now you guys are in control, you form how this thread will survive SO STOP BITCHING

Many arguments there are rubbish.

1) The processors are 2 * Xeon, not i7 or anything like that. People should get their facts straight. If it's got two Xeons, it's a workstation, and that's what it's meant to be. And for someone who absolutely needs the fantastic I/O the Xeon has to offer, the extra money is DEFINITELY worth it.
2) It's ECC RAM. I bet 99,9% of people don't know what that is, or why '2 GB of ram don't cost $100'. Read up if you don't know.
3) The Video card arguments is stupid. Anyone getting a workstation, will buy NVidia Quadro, not GT whatever cards. Indeed, the video cards are weak for this kind of system. I would just buy the cheapest one, and then replace it with NVidia Quadro.
4) Have you ever seen an Apple display in real life? If you have to spend 8-10 hours in front of one every day, doing your work, you definitely want DVI, and the high quality picture it has to offer.

Bottom line is, they might not be the ideal thing to get for doing general purpose things like gaming, etc. However, they're very very good for someone who needs to do specific things with their computer, and needs comfort, power, and the largest pool of applications available. I don't own a Mac myself, but I plan on getting one as soon as possible.
