Genre: Comedy/Drama, Korean Review: Even if you hate all the chinks, it's a great movie, it cranks you up like crazy. You'll be happy to see the over-exaggerated reactions, the fuckload of cakes and the 4 very weird main characters. It's a little bit of a braintwister if you haven't read the manga, but still good even if you didn't (my experience). Rating: 9/10 Trailer:

Genre:Science-Fiction Action (No aliens, magic, future/past or robots though) Plot:A NASCAR driver gets falsely accused of murdering his wife. The prison he lands in has got a popular feat: the Death Race. Being broad casted weekly throughout America the real-life show attracts more viewers than the Super Bowl. If the feller wins 5 times, he will get his freedom back. Review: I kind of watched it half, it was one of the movies shown in the bus on our way to Italy and I slept through half, but I liked the ending. Genre:Comedy/Drama, Korean Plot: A story on three generations of women facing the same shit: Love. A Highschooler with a too immature boyfriend who turns out to be a lesbian, a typical 20'er that wants to get settled but just can't find the right guy, and a divorced 30~40'er who is so focused on work that she just doesn't have time for men, but get's turned around when a younger man fancies her, and she develops feelings for him. Review: A great movie. So much power, energy, and thought is put in the movie. If you ever get a Koreaphile Girlfriend, watch this one with her to show her you "have feelings". Rating: 8/10, some elements still lacked but w/e. Trailer

What is popular, though can be empirical, is still subjective, especially with this gaming community. Titanic, though critically acclaimed and generally popular, would not top the list in this database. Hell, I'd expect movies like the Matrix to outrank the Hurt Locker in this community.
To be honest, I'd prefer something based on the last movie someone has watched instead of just trying to condense hundreds of great movies into a handful or randomly picking one or two from a large library.
Premise: A shadowy freedom fighter known only as "V" uses terrorist tactics to fight against his totalitarian society. Upon rescuing a girl from the secret police, he also finds his best chance at having an ally.
Review: Great cult film and thought provoking. Some have complained on the lack of action but in my opinion, the themes and ideas that were tackled in this film far outweighs this shortage.
Outlander (2008) Genre: sci-fi, action, fantasy Review: Alien crashes on earth, joins vikings in a hunt for an escaped beast from his planet. Rating: As corny as the plot sounds, it's pretty well executed. it focuses more on the characters than the action. I give it a 7.8/10 for managing to break through the wall of epic corny and that aside, it's a pretty good viking movie on it's own.

Title: Sunshine (2007) Genre: Adventure / Sci-Fi / Thriller Review: Team of scientists goes on a mission to restart the sun with the use of a fusion reaction they must shoot into the sun, their payload. The first mission to do so 7 years prior apparently failed, this is humanities second try at restarting our sun. Awesome musical score, action, thought provoking, intellectual, etc. I really enjoyed this movie, ranks up there in my top 10. (I'm partial to sci-fi though) Rating: IMBD 7.3/10 Me: 9.5/10 Trailer:

Title:Back to the future Genre: Sci-fi Plot:Doc Brown creates a time machine out of a Delorean car which was powered by plutonium taken from Lybians. Marty is forced back in time where he is stuck with the Doc brown of the past, where he must fix the future. Review: It was a great movie and I enjoyed every moment of it. Title: Bon Cop Bad Cop Genre: Comedy/Action Plot: A police man from Ontario(Mike Ward) and Quebec(David Bouchard) must team up to solve a crime involving Hockey. Both culture clash together. Shame so many posters don't work. About the IMDB ratings, Some movies don't have them, and also I want to watch a movie by the Trailer, not by a rating given by pros because I mostly disagree with the pros.
