Quantum fluctuation and inflation. Yes, I accept this as the leading best explanation for how the universe came to be. The evidence points to this.
What better explanation is there?
This will not end well. In before complete ignorance.
EDIT: I should add: What came before the big bang? Why are there conditions that allow for virtual particles, quantum fluctuations, etc. We don't know.

If you go up a dimension where the passage of time is irrelevant, then maybe "what was", "what is", and "what will be" perpetually exist, just not in our time frame.
What are your thoughts about it?

Who cares, really? And why should we care? I believe people are alien's project, project that failed.

actually, the simple term "Nothing Created Everything" sums it up for both.
Even though the big bang was there for scientists, there was no one there to have witnessed it, the same as with the religious people who just follow a book.
Nothing Created Everything is the best thing I've ever heard I think.

Talked to strangelove about the idea this man proposed and how, even though it's utterly insane, his method of presenting it is eerily convincing. Even with the plot holes. Needless to say strange laughed, called me batshit insane, kicked me in the shin, and called it day...but hey you might enjoy it if you really believe that.

I think EvGa already stated it best, stealing the thunder of everyone else. However, I came to this thread hoping to see your point of view Silo. It's always 'interesting' to say the least. Who knows after you do I might have something with more substance to post.

Same here hostage, that's why I asked what better explanation there is. In hopes Silo would answer. But, I also realize this may lead down the hole of "this will not end well.."

"Nothing" hardly sums up all the origination mythologies created by "religious people" and all the data observed and analyzed by "scientists". You're merely substituting pages upon pages of argumentations with one word and that doesn't help one bit.
As for my take on this. EvGa nailed it as always. I defer to the scientists who are continually working in finding out more about our universe. Is this an appeal to authority? Perhaps, but the scientific method, the falsifiability of claims, and the peer-review process of research projects are enough for me to initially accept their work without having to drown myself in the subject. Is this faith-based? Ha! Don't even go there.

Well I can definitely see how it would go wrong simply because Silo's name is attached but I hope it won't. Seems like it could be fun.

Sometimes I just keep asking myself this question, torturing myself for I know I cannot answer it. But then, just few weeks ago, as I was reading an enlightening book about nearly everything (from physics to chemistry to genetics to biology, etc.), the author pointed out something. Has it got -he said- any sense talking about "before" the Big Bang?
Maybe it's just stupid, but it made me think..I don't know, really.

for an existance there needs to be something if nothing creates nothing nothing will ever exist but something how ever small can create everything. only took 1 tiny thing to be at the core of the big bang to give us everything.
this one thing would be extreamly dense needless to say and likly highly unstable thats all i can guess.
dont believe in a god or gods so lets not go down that route.

:O what if there was only earth before big bang, and everything that lives is actually millions of different alien species that came upon earth with the big bang!

A very sensible question asked and the best possible conclusion.....no matter what your beliefs are....

I accept the concept of God, but not like religion's God who is so human like, more like energy that git transformed to everything and created it, and it's there since the beginning, getting changed through the time but doesn't perish. By the way, in my country if i say something like this in public, bad things would happen.

This has nothing to do with time. It's about what created what. Cause=>effect. What created that cause and why it decided to cause that effect.
The story of the Matrix sounded pretty plausible to me. I believe that!
Then what created the world outside of the Matrix? You're still in the circle again.
TO Silo: If nothing can be defined and compared then there is no such thing as nothing
I don't see why it can't be defined. It's the opposite of everything : no matter, no light, no space, no gravity, no force, no physic law, no chemistry, no interaction, no god, etc...
Imo, I don't believe that nothing can created everything, simply because it sounds too paradox. I must admit that "what" created everything, whether it be God/gravity/matter/quantum, has to possess a godlike property : the "always exist".
A second thought is that we are all inside something that always exist. Maybe inside/outside is not properly used but there is no such thing called inside or outside of that thing. Time doesn't really exist or it's just infinitely small that our past is the same as our present as our future. Or time is a circle past->present->future->past->present->... Like a virus inside a body, we see the universe expanding. Until it reaches a limit (if there is any), it will start contracting until all crush into the same point (opposite of Big Bang) for infinite of time. Or there is actually no Big Bang at all. What we observed is simply a side effect of something else.

Somehow I just wish people would stop asking how and why and just accept it as just "is" and end of sentence.

Simple explanation below: (extremely, it leaves out a lot, read the wiki for more. And search around for how it all fits together, not a topic I can teach or explain in a few paragraphs.)

I don't know if you're talking about this very topic or just in general, but either way that's a stupid and immature attitude.
Do you realize that if we accepted everything as it is without asking ourselves how come, for example, this phenomenon happens and the way it works, that'd just mean stopping progress (if any progress had happened to be, using your point of view)?
Elseway you could also be meaning that once something is explained, we should just accept it the way it is. That's even more foolish, lol..has it ever occurred to you that something even somehow widely accepted may be false? It has happened thousand times and it'll just keep on happenin'.
I really don't know why we shouldn't study aught concerning nature, Earth, space, humans (and humanity)and just let ourselves fall into ignorance, instead.
