See that feeling? That one that says "No, don't do that, it will result in pain!" That feeling is common sense. Don't ignore it, embrace it.
If your really determined to hurt yourself, though, you need to gradually get over your fear. Slowly do more and more tricks, increase the risk factor of your tricks and work yourself back up to where you once were.

Once while changing a light bulb I got electrocuted, now I refrain from changing them. I'll just get my mum to do it.

after not eating for like, 24 hours I fainted and landed right on my face. result: open chin, broken tooth and a face full of blood. I got three stitches and a fake tooth now.
I will eat more next time.

Used to be able to do backflips into pools, but this one time, i did it too far from the ledge and ended up hitting my ribs on the ledge of the pool. I didn't break anything, but i've been hesitant on doing backflips ever since.

traumatic experiences leave scars. If you want to get over it, keep doing it until you are used to it again. When I got in a really bad car wreck, car totaled, it took me almost 6 months before I was comfortable driving again.

I've almost had all the things mentioned in this thread happen, short of falling on my face.. lol
When I was first learning how to do back flips, I had a mental block that just wouldn't let me do them, but once I pushed that limit and my body realized I wasn't gonna hurt myself, it became much easier.(+ a big enough ramp and anything is possible)This was when I used to ride bikes in my younger days. Once, I wrecked pretty badly doing one and it was like I had to recondition myself to do them all over again, and it was all mental.(same for doing back flips on your feet)
I will warn you, skating with a bad ACL is probably one of the worst things you can do for your knee, maybe even worse than tennis or football. All it takes is one mess up and your knee could blow out. Depending on what they've done so far, you could end up with bolts in your knee.
On another note--- I was in a rollover accident because my co-worker was trying to get home during hurricane weather, so he could play WoW... We were on a bridge with speed limit of 45 and he was doing 75 in 15feet visibility...
