I have a family member that will rent me a car. Age restriction of the company the car will be rented says that the person renting and driving the rented car must be at least 21 years old.. So a family member will rent me the car under his/her name. And I will drive/use it for a trip.
Im not added in the extra driver list because im not 21 yet.

What would happen if I get caught by the police. I mean like if they stop for some random reason.

I'dd say that if you get pulled over you should just tell the officer its simply a car you borrowed from a family member.
Dont go and explain that you're actualy not allowed to drive it going by the rental companies rules.

Also, if the company would somehow find out, your family member could get fined by the company itself and not be allowed to rent there in the future.

I dont think the police can actualy fine you for it, because you're not actualy violating any law's, you're simply neglecting a contract between your family member and the company.
Just check the companies terms of service / contract / rules for possible penalties i guess ^^

Well it is 25 lol. But they have a contract for 21-25 years old. Of course if your under 25 and older than 21 you will have to pay additional fees.

But im only 19 so I would like to know the issues that might bring if I get caught.

Don´t police officers check with the rental company whenever they pull you over? And go like, hey i got your ride here y0 and its with plate 'xxxxxx' and this kid is drivin it. confirm its his rental?

Not sure, but I can imagine that police officers will check with the rental company to see who actually rented it. Maybe you should take the papers and give them when you're pulled over and just say .... idk

Just tell them you borrowed it from family.

Tell them that you have drugs but you throwed it out when you saw them, by then they should go back and look for it and when they do, drive away fast as hell.

why not tell ur family member to use his/her car for the trip and tell them to rent the car and use it while ur gone?

You could always take the bus... I hate driving and if it was convenient enough I would do it.

I would think it would only really matter if something actually happens, like you get in an accident, or some moving violation (speeding, running red lights). If you're abiding all the laws of the road, no reason to get pulled over and caught.

Doesn't make it 'right' though.
