Ello folks,
I have an Nvidia 9400 GT in my pc, and somehow i cannot update the drivers no matter what i try.

I've tried the following:

Install drivers from Nvidia.com > Upon startup my pc freezes at the 'Starting windows' screen.
(I've tried that with both windows Vista and Windows 7).

Tried updating from the 'device manager' menu.

Tried installing drivers from nvidia.com after completely sweeping all driver stuff on my pc with Driver sweeper / device manager / manual folder deleting.

Tried updating the drivers through windows update.

Tried downloading several older drivers.

EDIT: Tried installing drivers, and letting the pc reboot with the video card disabled, hoping it might finish the instalation of the drivers then, failed awell.

Everything results in my pc not being able to start up anymore and freezing at the 'Starting Windows' screen.
The only drivers that do work are those from the CD i got when i bought the video card, they're from feb 2009 though, they do not support Open GL somehow >.>

Anyy idea's on how i could possibly fix this people ?^^

If u wanna update ur graphic card drivers:

Download the newest drivers on to ur desktop
Go to: remove software/programs
Delete nvidia (display) drivers
when asked to reboot: yes
On reboot, windows will automatically use his own display drivers (crappy graphics)
Then run the newest drivers setup
Install
Reboot

Enjoy

PS: don't use the drivers for ur graphic card found by Win 7 in Windows updates

Tried this, dint work.

I finaly got some drivers to work now.
They're about 5 months old, but oh well, it works- so its allright for me x__X
I think the newest release from Nvidia might just be corupted or something like that.

I've been having the same trouble, but for a far different reason. I have had to uninstall the drivers from device manager to completely get rid of them.

uninstall => install
and try to dl the driver from the provider of that card/mainboard instead of dl from the manufacturer origin.
