z0mg, the comments are gold

I agree with the owner of the car, who said he felt the Rosary beads inside the car "saved him." The intervention of the Blessed Mother is a powerful thing

Someone surviving a fall (or jump) through sheer stupid luck, is not good enough proof for me of divine intervention.

An actual God/Goddess showing itself.
Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

Apparently the god was too busy to prevent him from falling in the first place.

I personally think this was no accident and he was trying to commit suicide and God should smite him for that, for that is a sin. SMITE THY!!!

Yup, that would be enough to restore my faith.

Magill isn't the only New Yorker to survive a high-rise fall. Window washer Alcides Moreno fell 47 stories from the roof of a skyscraper in December 2007

This was also no accident. Smite all these sinners oh mighty lord of mine!

Simple. Miracle healing.

But not just the timely appearance of an organ donor or the remission of cancer. I want to see God heal an amputee.

No.

And this reminds me: Two days ago my aunt was run off the road by an 18 wheeler, hit a ditch, and flipped her SUV 7 times. Broke her back and ruptured a disk. The facebook comments are amazing. "God must have been riding with her". "Must of been riding with an angle." "God is amazing, praise to him for watching over her." I also like the "praying for a full recovery". I'd like to post, "Prayng God doesn't cause and/or not intervene next time." I don't get it. (Video relates to this perfectly btw)

lols, ok bro. She already had surgery and all went well, so apparently her pray chain met the prayer quota for a positive intervention.

GL as in "Good luck" but you laughed about God. What the hell is luck? Wouldn't good luck be as useless as praying? :sohappy:

Then Cell with Hope! Which would be to sit on your ass doing nothing.

Words are subjective to one's own definition.

I was just saying: Some people hope, some people wish good luck, and some people pray. Does it make a difference if the people on facebook wished her luck or hoped for her? The shit is going down how its gonna go down either way.

All it is is letting people know that you care - not that it's gonna change anything.

good luck is actually a figure of speech.

now, when people actually think prayers alone create tangible results, that's when i laugh

I knew I should have added a disclaimer. I really appreciate the thoughts, regardless of how they are typed "Im praying for you", "thinking of you", etc... It just confuses me how the thought process works. He is able to intervene in the aftermath (heal, save them during the wreck, etc) but not able to just simply prevent the wreck in the first place. That's exactly what the video I posted talks about. god seems to always be in a win-win situation. If I were religious I would scratch my head and be like "wtf?" Maybe that is why I'm not religious? :P

Oh, and fiction, the difference is, the third group expects results. Which are then attributed to a mythical god. Nothing wrong here I suppose, it's just what "I don't get", as I posted earlier.

(Btw - I'm not a dick, I wouldn't post anti-religious shit on her FB like I alluded to in my previous reply.)
