Since launching Xbox LIVE in 2002 we have continually added more content and entertainment experiences for our members, while keeping the price the same. We’re confident that when the new pricing takes effect, an Xbox LIVE Gold membership will continue to offer the best value in the industry.
How Farking greedy can they get? You get Gold just so you can play with your friends online or watch netflix...............On every other console/bluray/computer this service is free. (besides ISP) Other than that there isn't any point to even have gold... they still treat you like shit in QS and you still have to pay for almost every single thing on live from avatar shit to game add-ons to music. Ironic that the console with the biggest failure rate is the only one you have to continue to pay for once you've bought it.
><' Never buying another MS console again...

I dk about that anymore... I own two 360... had a ps3, but it got stolen... The Ps3 had built in bluray, wireless, rechargeable batteries in the controller, bigger hard drive (back then), less technical problems, less failure rate, better hardware, free online, and I could play a lot of my old ps2 games. The 360s have just been trouble... I added one of my CC onto live... then a year later I decided I wanted it taken off... well 4 months later they finally canceled my Gold membership and took my CC off. Both of them-1 old 1 new- have had the RROD multiple times, and sometimes it takes a month to get it back. ( they don't send box out anymore, or they didn't the last two times.)

I was this just yesterday, I thought it was ridiculous as well. They are clearly just doing this because the 2 biggest games of the year are about to come out and know people are gonna pay. MS has to be the greediest company there is. They also lie about losing money (not in this article but was in the one I was reading), if PS3 is offering their services free and still making money with lower sales then the 360 there is no way MS is close to losing money. With the shitty customer service they give there really should be no charge.
I don't have either anymore but having used both for a rather long time (X > 1 year) I can say that I still prefer the Xbox. For me I have not had problems with either. That being said for me they are the same except UI, controller, and the subscription.

speaking of QS... They out source that shit... So they are saving money there for sure.
Yea, the only game I think that hasn't been completely farked was Halo3. Its not exactly MS who is at fault always but they are to somewhat to blame for the suckiness.
Yeah the controller owns PS3's. I didn't get why sony didn't change theirs. This Gen the consoles really stepped into the FPS realm and the old PS controller was never good for this, but 360's controller is spot on. Like mouse and keyboard owns the 360 users in online FPS I'm sure the 360 users would own the PS3 users in a COD or w/e.
I used to use my xbox a lot and only my xbox. The reason for that is because I played a lot of NHL09/10/11 and played competitively.
I have been using my PS3 more and more and I like it better now. I can't really complain about raising XBL's monthly fee by a dollar. It's extremely superior to PS3.
PS3 community support is a joke. No voice messaging or party chat? That alone is worth the 9,99 a month.
As for my Wii, well... it's a Wii. I would have been better off spending the money on socks or something.

Controller is really preference. Being "better" is one thing (keyboard vs controller) but 360 controller vs ps3 controller neither is better. Except for the battery part aha

Now that I think that's over, I will cancel my XBL membership. I have been using my PS3 more and more and I like it better now.

Never knew ppl played NHL competitively. Down here its Madden.
My wii was fun for maybe the first... ummm... week? Then after that it just got lame. Only has A/V plugs and can't play dvds... such a fail.
Online hockey is the best developed of all the games. You make a team with your friends and each person is locked to a position. You climb the team ladder. At the end of the season you play playoffs and eventually go head to head in person.
I know madden now has some team play, but in hockey it's really 1 goalie, 2 d-men, and 3 forwards on each side. You practice your plays and set ups. It gets pretty intense.
As for XBL, I just realized i'm paying nearly $10 a month and i've had it for years. I should just pay the annual fee 0.o

That might be so, but I see a major difference(not good) in my game-play when I use the stupid PS3 controller than when I use the 360 controller.

It just seems like the 360 controller is designed to be for this gen, where the ps3 is still the same design they used to play the games from way back in 96... All I'm saying is 360 controller is more suited for FPS than the ps3's which gives the player a leg up on the PS3 users.

I think the same as you, except exactly the opposite sir

Which is again..preference. I find the ps3 more suited for FPS, as many ps3 users do.
Like people have said, I believe online gameplay should be free, and keep the premium shit for the people who actually want, of course they know no one will want it so they basically force you too
Also if anything this pricing should go down, there is NO EXCUSE WHATSOEVER to raise prices except for greed
If the PS3 all came bundled with a shitty $5 USB headset you'd hear everyone talk. Really sucks that on the PS3 no one talks, but I do get quite a lot of msgs saying "you're really good" or "you suck". Something along those lines.
Anyhow posting this again
I honestly don't see how they could charge $10 more for a service that is free for the other consoles and PC games. They try to justify the price increase for the new features that you still have to pay for(Correct me if I'm wrong) besides the Kinect video chat(Which I doubt most of us will buy it). Now answer me this are you ganna use those features? Why did they force everyone to pay? Why are ADs plastered everywhere? It's all a business plan to make more easy money that's why. Even better they come up with the $10 sale before it goes up $10. This is getting someone to pay and Microsoft knows you'll most likely return after the year and forget about the price change.
Don't mind me I'm just raging at what's killing the gaming industry.. greed.
Also not trying to be a fanboy or anything, but I also prefer the Playstation remote over anything. I'm just used to it.
If being a loser means not playing Silkroad all day.. lulwut?
XBox 360 Controller is better than the PS3 Controller. It's not even a matter of preference, it's just better.

I'm guessing Online is in Be-A-Pro. Was wondering do you see your guy in third-person view or you see everyones player from the usual "bird" view. Was dissapointed when Multiplayer Be-A-Pro on FIFA 2010 was from a "birds" view
