So I'm considering in buying me a new phone, found the iphone 3G or 3GS, can't remember, for quite cheap as my 'experts' say, so I started wondering, should I really buy one?
How's the calling with it, does it take good pictures and videos, apps and all the other basic stuff. So a little reviw please.
And also, since there are 3G and 3GS, what's the difference between them?

iPhone's have had notoriously bad reception (mainly AT&T's fault) and since you are stuck on AT&T you are kinda limited in your choice of an iPhone. It does depend where you live though. Some area's are fine, others are not.
Android has really taken off and I would be surprised if you didn't like it. Windows Phone 7 will offer integration with your Xbox Live account with games that will earn you achievements and such.
Good luck.

Interestingly enough the iPhone was rumored for a January Verizon release. It would make it the first CDMA iPhone which actually makes more 'Apple-sense' than GSM to begin with.
Getting away from AT&T would be a good thing, although you would lose the ability to use web and talk simultaneously as CDMA does not have the ability to do the two at one time. LTE, though, Verizon's 4G telecom standard could be used for data and 3G for voice at which point you would probably be able to use web and talk at the same time.
Naturally, this all depends on how 'innovative' Jobs is feeling on a day to day basis. /sarcasm
Just something to think about if you are willing to wait 'til January.

Same. Nothing more needs to be said tbh..
It's just an amazing device really. Picture quality is VERY good for a user that's not used to high-def pictures like me (and you from the sounds of things

)
App store is awesome too. The way you install/remove/buy/update apps is just plain awesome. It works so well.
Personally I spend quite a bit of time on the Auction App for wow

Oh and bejeweled 2! (addicted). Other than that, there are a shitton of social apps ofc. Everything is integrated. Every game has a twitter/facebook function, and basically every normal app as well. Theres apps for most major websites. Ranging from weather forecast, to news, to games, to VODs etc etc.
You can test your internet speed with the speedtest.nets iphone app. I'm on HTTPS in holland by Vodaphone, I get 4Mbps

Basically that's like 5 times more than a youtube stream would require. Before that I was with t-mobile though, and I was on 3G and only reached .5 Mbps

Check around, there are plenty of other smart phones on the market. Main thing will be the coverage in your area. I have a Droid running the new 2.2 Froyo software and love it. Flash 10 is awesome and lets me view basically all content on the web, even stuff not mobile specific. all the apps named above are also available on Android.
My room mate has a Droid X.. amazing phone. Huge screen, extremely clear picture, camera, etc.

Also jailbreaking can get u free apps music etc. and its called iphone 4 not iphone 4g.

I'd rather take samsung's Galaxy S than an iPhone.
