I could allreaddy drink (anything but the strong stuff) since 16.
I just signed up for driving lessons soon after.

Its a nice age, but to me its just an other year.

The bad part is that you'dd have to start paying your own insurances and such, not good for your wallet =[

underage drinking/smoking happens in every country. You can also drive without an adult before 18 in Australia. You get your learners license for 1 year (need to complete 100 hours driving - I've done like 7 I think ) and then you can apply for you Provisional's, which you can drive by yourself.

About the driving, it's the same here but the driving hours aren't really a problem if you know the driving teacher (i did a mere 26 and passed both tests)

About the drinking,i meant buying(which normally involves drinking) alcoholic beverages , which is allowed at 16 (18 if the beverages are distilled)if you get yourself an identity card from the autorities at the age of 16.
Same goes for some euro countries, others are around 18/21.

For my 18th I went clubbing with my then boyfriend and some friends. But it wasn't anything special because I went clubbing, underage loads of times before. But when I turned 18 was the first time I was asked for ID.
