You make an account and you put links to files (multiple rapid shares, torrents, etc.)
It downloads the file (downloaded 2.4GB in less than a minute) and host the files to its servers. You can then download them through the website.
It will automatically seed torrents until you are 1:1, not limiting you to 1 rapidshare per hour or whatever it is, and give you amazing speeds.
I tested it out with Battlestar Galactica (legally acquired copy)

You can also watch any video content you download on the site itself, like a streaming service.
Here's basically how it works:

Note: This is for educational purposes only.
Get links and wait for it to verify that they're live:
Begin your download:
Few seconds later:
Then download the file or watch it online.

Seems like an amazing site..but I don't want to risk any private trackers on it. Will use demonoid and RS though. Thanks a lot.

Is the bandwidth for it downloading from other sites, or you downloading the files from them after they downloaded it from the sites, or both?

They use Transmission and rtorrent clients for torrents so it's not really an issue, assuming the private tracker in question has those clients whitelisted (which they usually do). I tried it with a private tracker and it listed my client as Transmission on the peerlist. I wouldn't recommend using it as a seedbox though. It's too limited in that regard.

They both go against your quota.

Yeah, I probably should have mentioned that tiny detail. It's not that bad though. They recently gave out some 30G accounts on their Twitter (@putdotio), which is where I got mine from (although I've been a beta tester for quite a while).

I'd do it for the convenience. Free rapidshare: Downloading a whoever knows how many parts file: Time taken - days. put.io time taken: hours or less.

Yeah say something is hosted in ISOhunt or rapidshare, but you don't want to download directly from there because you are afraid of someone, government, from finding out you downloaded from there. This website downloads it for you, then its privately hosts the file and you can download it from there. So its like you never went to rapidshare/isohunt

It seems like a good service, but I don't think it'll go that famous.
I really don't think people torrenting games, movies, shows will PAY for things they were trying to get illegaly so they wouldn't have to pay
There are plenty of websites that directly profit from monthly payment to use their downloading service with no limitations or time restrictions. These include websites such as Rapidshare, Hotfile, Megauploads, Mediafire, and many more that offer these services but only for their own files. A lot of people prefer DDL (Direct Download) services over torrents because its more convenient to get consist speeds than to wait around for enough seeders to be online to get a decent speed going (for public trackers anyway). Couple that with added security and confidentiality measures and you have put.io. Whether your downloads are legal or not is another matter entirely.

Ofy wrote:Hmm, you are right. It could be better for people with higher download speeds then me.
I usually max my download speed (200 kb/s ) on any torrents so I've never had slower download speeds then DDL links.
I also don't have problems with Rapidshare, Hotfile, Megauploads, Mediafire since I have a dynamic IP and I just refresh my IP so I could download the next part instantly.
I also don't need premium on those sites because I don't even reach the max speed on their free services :p :p
/wrist
It's an original idea tbh. I would of considered it if it would of been useful to me.
Oh yeah, it's definitely a better solution to people with higher download speeds. My speed isn't that great but I don't have a dynamic IP either.

Fug duo and i have different kinds of accounts. What I noticed from mine is only uploads to the service counts when using paid services (rapid share).
My downloads didn't count and I haven't tested torrents

So I'm trying it... Does put.io hate rar files or something? Trying to download some videos, and every time it tells me "error: etcetcetc.part01.rar is not a valid archive! cleaning."
So far only two different videos tried, but still.... It also seems to stop doing anything once that message comes up.

Haven't had any problems like that. You should talk to Fug Dup, he'll help you out.
You can also share your uploads with friends.

It shouldn't have any problems with rar files. Are you sure the file itself isn't corrupt, or maybe some parts are missing? When the servers try to extract the whole list of archives and there's a missing part, it'll usually list part01 as the invalid or corrupt file. Is there any way you can verify that all the parts are there? (Maybe looking at other sources or something, or Googling the file name)

Must be corrupt. :/ 100% positive all the parts are there.

Really! He is?
I had hear this crazy rumor that whilst practicing his pirouette in his --awesome I might add-- Hannah Montana tutu; he had severed his spinal cord twirling expeditiously in a fit of joy. Now he just spends his days in a vapid state of mind looking out the window CLENCHING that very tutu.
