So I never knew that hawks attack people. Apparently they do. This past week a friend of mine, *names Jade, he's a bull rider*, and his room mate, Pat, were both attacked by hawks this week. Pat was knocked to the ground and Jade was almost knocked out and was pinned under a tree for over an hour. I only wish I could have seen it happen.

So, have any of you ever been attack by hawks? And how does one defend himself against a hawk dive bombing you?

Pinned under a tree? Like a tree fell on his legs or something? Sorry just didn't understand that part.

I wasn't quite clear on the details either. I believe that he was hiding under it so the hawks could dive bomb him.

Probs has a nest nearby and they're defending it o.O I guess arms over your head and try to find some cover.

After I read your thread and saw Xmoshe posting I thought that he was going to make an Sro archer black hawk joke.

Its a freakin bird ¬.¬, if you don't break its neck by simply smacking it, grab a stick or something and play hawkball. Or Run lol.

Yea they got sharp claws and shit, wouldn't think a hawk would trap someone under a tree though lol. ;x

prolly none of you would believe me (wish had it on tape). 2 years ago i was standing in front a window for 5 min while i was leaving i started closing the window as soon as i closed(2 sec) and bang he hit my glass thank god it didn't break. there is some type of falcon or eagles.. that can carry 5 year old kids!! for long distance

Seagulls used to try and fly into windows at my elementary school. every morning i'd come to school and see dead seagulls by windows, and the school eventually got some sort of meshing on the windows to prevent any more damage to them. fckin birds..

Their talons are meant for grabbing, not slashing, I fail to see the threat. A few puntcures/cuts is the worst it could do, while you could easily ground it with a smack <.<. Even the biggest kind of hawk isn't that big.

Prolly better idea to run, sure, but if you can't out run a bird >.>, its not like its really too much of an issue to deal with lol.

Hihi, this reminds me of when my Stepfather was out with one of our dogs in the forest when they was puppys, a hawk came and was really close to grab it, but my stepfather throwed a rock at it so it flied away.

Any idea what kind of hawk it is? Some of them can fly very fast, http://www.thetravelalmanac.com/lists/birds-speed.htm While none of those are hawks, the Peregrine Falcon can probably sometimes be confused as one.
