Alright so I've never actually been into anime, or seen a real episode of if or anything. So, I was wondering if y'all could suggest some good series that I could watch.

There are some dubs that don't suck. First FMA the main voice actors doesn't suck, but story line makes no sense. The 2nd FMA has a good story line but the dub is terrible.

I just prefer it being in Japanese considering they don't talk robotic even if they're all high pitched screaming.

Cowboy Bebop watch that first

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
however a warning ahead. after watching this one pretty much everything else seems more disappointing =/.

I suggest you start with something light like:
Naruto/Bleach/One Piece

then you can try stuff like: Full Metal Alchemist, Code Geass or Gurren Lagann :D.

Naruto, One Piece, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Ghost in the Shell, Gundam Wing/Seed, Cowboy Bebop, Death Note, Dragon Ball/DBZ/DB Evolution, and I hear Bleach is pretty good too. My faves are defs One Piece, Naruto, Death Note, and Neon Genesis. Neon Genesis is pretty funny, like the guy feels up all the chicks lmao.

Darker than Black
D Gray man
Soul Eater
Code Geass
Black Blood Brothers

I guess you could watch them in English (Which I would prefer) but the Japanese versions are a lot more violent, and they swear, so meh. They should come with subs right ?

This sentence does not make sense.

You suggest "short" series so you suggest two series with over 50 episodes. May as well suggest DBZ or Naruto.

OT:
Watch smaller animes, and try different genres of anime in order to find what it is you enjoy.
Try out:
Excel Saga (cuz this shit is basically every anime genre in a 26 [I think 27 with the unaired episode?] series.
Fate Stay Night
Toaru Majutsu no Index
Death Note
Samurai Champloo
Hellsing
Full Metal Panic

If you like it cute and short:
Onegai Teacher
Onegai Twins
Fruits Basket
Love Hina

^They're so much fun :)

And for others: I'd suggest Shaman King, Card Captor Sakura, Digimon Season 1+2 and Bakugan, for the hell of it.

So much funnn~

Though, I prefer korean dramas over anime.
The Woman That Still Wants To Marry (woman of 34 is a news reporter and still unmarried, falls in love with a 24 year old. Her ex boyfriend(34) falls in love with the mother of her new boyfriend(44). He tries to seduce her, she pushes him away, and it's the same witht he ex and the mom)
Style (poor girl gets slaved as an assistant at a fashion magazine, works her ass off and gets the chance to become an editor right before the magazine is practically farked and falls in love with the new head editor, some chef from New York)
Coffee Prince (poor girl looks like a boy and gets hired in a men only employing coffee cafe, falls in love with the arrogant and rich owner and his cousin falls in love with her too)
Boys Over Flowers (poor girl lands into the richest school in Korea and turns the biggest ass in School into her boyfriend)

The only animes I've watched all the episodes of was the first FMA and Samurai Champloo. Watched Bleach until the Bount filler and got bored, watched some Naturo aswell.

I guess this Summer Vacation I'll get into another anime or maybe Bleach again.

Full Metal Panic

50-ish eps vs 400+ eps....how the phuck is that not short...

Edit: and most mainstream animes..mostly naruto...have too many fillers.

Small series are 6 and below.
Short is like 12
Medium is like 25
Big is like 50
Xbox hueg series is beyond that

<How I see it that is>
