say someone writes me a check, and its for $XX amount of money, and I go to cash it, what if its bad, do I get the money?

Actually theres a chance sometime ago around our area some guy sold like old bike and was paid by a check, and when he went to cash it in they said it was bad (I think by bad, false or w/e). They called the cops too, and he went to jail and had to pay bail.
But anyways this might just be a 1 in a 1000 thing.

lol well i just wondering cuz i just sold my ipod, got $170, cuz im paying to get my new phone, but the guy was from the west of columbus and was black (not to be racist), I was scared, but he was a nice guy so I cant complain, and Ima pick my mytouch slide up tonite bitches!
