I then decided to like her status.

Well it does make you a dick for pointing out the obvious. By venting on Facebook most people are just trying to get things off their minds and seek a bit of support they otherwise don't have, or attention in some ways. You were quite rude and arrogant in the way you did it, makes you sound like a bit of a dick. At least try and give the her a bit of support, sometimes we all need someone who will listen.

It's today's culture. Internet/4chan language is used by everyone now. Take the word "noob",everyone calls each other noobs IRL even though they arn't all gamers. Same thing for "Trolling",soon it will become a common expression used by everyone including non-gamers.
