laptop help

I got a hp pavilion dv2000 and i want to restart it like it was when i got it when i bought it cause im going to sell it and i dont want my files and stuff to be on here when i sell it.
so my question is how can i restart it, to how it was when i bought it?

Insert you're OS(XP,Vista or 7) CD in and let it run,its pretty straight forward.I've never reformatted on my Win7 Laptop but I do know that for XP, after clicking Next non-stop it will bring you to a "BIOS-style" menu,from there its pretty straight forward. Just remember to Delete the Partition when they'll give you the option.

i dont think i have a disc i'll look for it though, if i dont have one is there another way?
