What should I do?
What should I do?
Alright so here's the deal. I'm currently a junior in highschool, I'll be a senior this fall. I'm going to be doing school all summer long. I'm currently working at mcdonalds 30ish hours a week, I don't work on Saturday or Friday due to religious reasons. *Jews ftw! : p*. Anyway, I want to play football this fall. We just had our first practice, *and I'm covered in mud thanks to the dang rain*, this is my first year of playing on an actual team, i mean I've played all the time but just casually with my friends. My problem is that with practices being 4 days a week, and being unable to work on Friday and Saturday, along with school and my current work load, I can't do every thing.
So, my question for my fellow Srfers is, should I only work 2-3 days a week for about 20 hours in order to be able to play football, *which i really want to do. Mainly to impress the ladies..but yeah*. OR should I skip this one chance to play football and keep on working in order to buy a
car?

Re: What should I do?
cut your hours unless you REALLY need it, cause playing football in HS is a onetime deal, its a real team sport.
Re: What should I do?

Giving serious advice, I would really say that you should go for football, its senior year and you should do something memorable before you head off to college. I'm also a junior, and in the winter, I gave up my job to keep myself on the swim team and grades. So in my experience, pursue something you want.

I also assume you have good size and skills, because just because your a senior doesnt gurantee you a starting spot ( or at least in my HS, cause we are auctally good lol , so keep that in mind, you dont want to waste time sitting on the bench, and make sure your dedicated enough to stay if you want to play

You'd be impressing the wrong type of "ladies" if that's all you're into football for.
On the other hand I'm sure McDonald's wouldn't mind changing up your schedule.

Re: What should I do?
I don't know how sport works over where you live, but why do you need 20 hours of dedicated time for football? I play both indoor and outdoor cricket. Indoor cricket is an hour per week an outdoor is around 8 hours per week (outdoor cricket is off for the winter, though). 20 hours? Are you playing representative football or something? What happened to just joining your local football club and playing for an hour with your team mates?
Also Reise summed things up pretty well. Are you really interested in someone who is so superficial that you being in a football team will impress them? Or would you rather be with someone who likes and appreciates you for the person you are? I'd know which one I'd choose.
Also, why debate on cutting out your job? If your trying to introduce more leisure time into your week, why not replace old leisure activities? Cut down on the SRO, watch a bit less TV, spend less time on SRF and I'm sure you could fit it all in. I study at Tafe, work a 24 hour week, spend a lot of time doing assignments, play sport and I still have insane amounts of free time to spend with friends/play games/relax. It's all about prioritizing.

Re: What should I do?
You only have one chance to play senior year football, consider that.
It's not all about the chicks and stereotypical shit. Those that haven't played really shouldn't comment...
Find a way to balance it all if you really want to impress the right kind of gal.

Re: What should I do?
1. If you intend to go to college, go with football, extra activities look great on paper, especially in comparison to someone without.
2. I'm sure you can make do without a car for a bit longer, again, football looks more promising. On top of that, car crashes are the #1 killer for teenagers.
3. My mom personally works at Mcdonalds, so I'm pretty sure they can accomadate for your needs, if not, perhaps find a job that can, and manage to add in football, etc.
Lastly, don't quit your job until your certain you won't be benched/crap position/blah blah blah. You get the point.
tl;dr - Choosing to play football, is to me the more logical choice, but in all honesty, I'd rather have a car.

Re: What should I do?
Sigh....
If you ask me, you should choose between playing football, because you like it and want to play football for yourself or working and making money to get a car and anything else you like.
Dont play football for the ladies, since as more people mentioned before me- there are enough other ways to get a girl, and the girls who just fall for football players often arent the greatest persons xD
Having money is always worth it
You'll see who'dd be the one laughing once your classmates cant buy a drink because they spent most of their funds for the month allreaddy, while you still have 10,000 dollars on your account

True. But I was mainly being sarcastic about only playing football to impress the ladies. Although it is a nice little benefit. ; )

It's not anywhere near 20 hours. Each practice lasts about 2ish hours. So it's really only 8 hours of practice a week. But it takes me a good hour to drive there and another hour to drive back. *it's a homeschool co-op football team of three other, small, schools*.
I just deleted Silkroad. Ha. I didn't play much anyways. The thing with work is that I normally work 3:00pm-11pm on most days. Practice is 5-7. So yeah. Also my mother refuses to let me work mornings because she's afraid it'll effect my grades. And here I thought that if you got straight A's your parents were nice to you.

Excellent points/ideas.
I just sent an email to the coach to see when the thursday and friday practices start this year, *as I don't think they start for a while, which would be perfect for me*. So yeah, just waiting on his response to decide what I'll do.
Thanks y'all
