No Penises.
Tomorrow is Sunday, which is when HBO is showing the last episode of "The Pacific," a really amazing WWII series of the Pacific Theater which shows U.S. soldiers fighting against the aggressive imperialist Japanese empire. In the series, there are a lot of fighting scenes and emotional parts like "Band of Brothers."
http://www.tvduck.com/The-Pacific.htmlIf you guys want to watch some of the episodes go to the link.
AND if you guys also have any good war movies or series, please recommend me some also.
~Thanks.

It is actually pretty good. I watched the first episode, and some kid got shot while he was taking a piss .. Not cool. And the Aussies were like fucking with some Japanese guy, shooting him in the leg with snipers and shit. Eventually some guy killed him though.

Am I the only one who thinks the series sucks?
I watched like 8 episodes and at the end of it I still didn't know more than 2 names. The camera work in action scenes is terrible. And here's a newsflash: we don't see shit when it's night time.

I also didn't like it, it didn't get the war-feeling which I had while watching Band of Brothers.
And the best WW11-movie of all time has got to be Saving Private Ryan.

How do you end a war against one who does not surrender? The nuke managed to pull that off, because they realized that they could be cleared off the map the next day. Oddly enough there wasn't another nuke ready to go.

Yeah, they deserved to be nuked. The houndred of thousands of people killed deserved it. Really Jstar, everytime you keep surprising me with your way of thinking. I just can not understand how you can something like this and be serious at the same time

@Jstar1, I totally agree with you. Japan did some very sick things to the Allies.
@woutR, He never said it wasn't agressive. It was a needed action. The people who died in the bombings, would've been a mere fraction of the casualtys of Japanese soldiers + Allies + Civilians.
@heroo, The civilian deaths was a price to pay for the winning of war Japan wasn't willing to give up. Axis + Allie + Civilian deaths from invasion of Japan would be massive compared to the relative "small" amounts of losses from both bombings

How blind are you guys? Is anime, chocolate pocky, and hello kitty the only things you idiots see when you think of japan?
Japan committed some of the worst crimes in WWII, even worse than the jewish holocaust, if you'd be bothered to look up what they actually did because its so disgusting and cruel that its not even worth mentioning here.
And if you bothered to listen in your high school history classes, the entire country of Japan was ready to die, similar to nazi germany..germany and japan were pretty cuckoo during WWII. If americans and british soldiers landed on japanese coasts like d-day (like they originally planned to do), the result would have been the war being a couple years longer, unnecessary death of allied soldiers, and pretty much the genocide of Japan. They had school kids prepare bamboo spears, rocks to throw, and pretty much just kill themselves as american soldiers landed. That means there would have been no naruto or role-playing for you fcking weeaboos because if it wasn't for the atom bomb, the current japanese population would probably be like 50,000.
The atom bomb was the lesser of two evils that was needed to save allied soldiers lives and japanese lives, period.

i don't like it that much. the pacific is more like a first time and your never going to watch it again. there isn't really much touching scene like in band of brothers. however i do like guadacanal and okinawa episodes though.

You do realize that the japs would not surrender under any circumstance's if they hadn't nuked them? They thought their Emperor was pretty much like god and they would all die fighting for him.

I agree, the pacific wasn't as good as band of brothers. There was a sense of brotherhood and that "lets do this together" attitude in band of brothers. Here, all they did was focus on some pussy emo kid who didn't want to fight, and all they did was film him sitting down thinking about the meaning of life and stupid shit like that. Overall just kind of flat and cookie cutter style.
and for god sakes, I wish people would get the facts straight about the usage of the atom bomb in WWII. Makes me want to strangle someone everytime I hear ignorant statements like "america commited a war crime because of atom bomb" etc etc. Japan isn't a victim of WWII, although they like portray themselves as it; they are the perpetrators, murderers, and rapers of all the peoples of east asia and the atom bomb is the ultimate punishment that they deserved (and got).

I remember watching this History channel and they said that the Japanese focused more on a 'death ray' over the atomic bomb. Oh how I lol
