I think everyone dreads going to the dentist, or is it just me? I hate it with a passion, cause i dont like high-speed drills in my mouth, or getting needles sticked in my gums, not to mention if they are working on you for a long time. I know the dentist is entirely avoidable ( but you ought to go there to get cleaning at least ) but I have to go there tuesday to get 2)tooth filled, and the last time i went was 2 weeks from that to get a cleaning... I always had a problem since i was younger. I guess its only for the better :|

Just curious, to see if everyone is like me

i hate i for one reason, i always have to go in the morning. the timing of my appointments is always shitty. otherwise i don't mind going to the dentist, i like to take good care of my mouth and teeth.

Every 6 months

My teeth are always perfect

Never had braces

No drills or Novocain ever used

I never had any holes so far and i go to the dentist about once every year. Last time was a little less than one year ago.
My last experience there felt like they hate their job so they dont care if it hurts the patient.
So i dont like going to the dentist either.

I only go once every 6 months although I think I haven't gone for over a year now.... but usually it's 6 months.
but my teeth kinda suck. They don't look bad or anything. it's just that I eat like a whole bar of chocolate every day -.-

though I guess that gets slightly saved by that other whole pack of milk that I drink every day as well.

i just went to my dentist a few days ago for cleaning. TBH i don't really mind it, unlike when i was a kid i hated them dentists

I never had braces, but my teeth arnt crooked or anything lol, they are normal if you ask me plus, if your dentist doesnt use a drill, what do they use? arnt they essential for cleaning

my dentist does use them, i don't mind them though, they feel pretty good imo

I found a cure for you
dentist and a drill. Think about that evryday you eat chocolate.

I never really understood the problem with dentists. I really never had any bad experiences with them.
I open my mouth, he/she checks it and says it's all good and I go.

the anxiety part comes in when (s)he says that it's not all good.

For cleaning most of the use a picking tool to clean off each tooth individually, then they 'polish' your teeth with a spinning brush and some weird stuff on it (this part I hate) then they make you rinse with fluoride/Listerine.

Least that's how it normally works when I go.
I'd imagine the general flow is

check teeth (xrays, moles, etc)
clean teeth (picking, polishing)
rinse teeth (fluoride/Listerine)

I just don't like the dentist because it feels weird in my mouth =\

lol, but yeah, thats how cleaning is done, but after they polish it, they put some kind of coating on mine after rinsing with just water.

I also hate that thing that makes your mouth dry, that they have to leave inside your mouth everytime :/

I had an accident a few months ago and my teeth are fucked, so I have to visit the dentist regularly.

I feel like the people who bitch about dentists are the ones who don't brush their teeth regularly. All you really have to do is go for cleaning every 6 months and thats it.

brushing your teeth isnt enough, what you eat and drink also has effects;
im guessing genes have an effect too. ( flossing too )

Also, when you say the people who bitch about dentists are the ones who dont brush their teeth regularly has nothing to do with each other, because someone who has perfect teeth but has to go to the dentist every 6 months may hate it, even if they have perfect teeth or not...

Also, what happens if u get a cavity when you have braces on? Always wondered.

I don't mind going to the dentist, it makes me beautiful

The only thing I actually hate is teeth cleaning

I go whenever I can afford it ... already have to pay a lot for my diabetes crap & school, just don't have enough to also pay for the dentist the majority of times.

Last time I went was like 3 years ago ... experience was eh, bland I guess, either they find something or don't, then we just continue on from there

I never had a problem with my teeth since I was a kid. Now I have to go weekly, nothing serious though. I hate drilling, hate the Farking shocks you get for a couple of days after you get a new filling even more. :/

Only reason why I hate the dentist is because I would rather use the time I spend at the dentist's place somewhere else.

Have never been drilled, cleaned and poked with their other instruments(Only the lil mirrors). Perfectly healthy teeth.

It's only annoying when they play around in your mouth for 5 mins and you can't breath. And then to make it worst they go, "So sup?How's school?". How the **** am I suppose to answer

the only thing I hate is when they stick those stupid x-ray things into my mouth and I feel like yaking due to having sensitive gag reflexes that I possess.

Like I'd go if I broke a tooth one day, like if I feel over and landed on my mouth, but apart from that I don't see a need to go to one.

He or she does more then just checking the whiteness of your teeth. But if you don't need to don't go It's still your mouth.
