TL;DR: New law where every immigrant is required to carry immigration documents. Police can check every suspected illegal immigrant (read: all Hispanics) at any time, without real proper cause.
I think I'd have to be a bit closer to this than I am right now, but from where I stand I don't think this is a good law. This law will be an unpleasant experience for many Hispanic-Americans who will be made 'suspect' solely on race.
But I don't know how bad the immigration problem is, so I don't know what kind of measurements need to be taken.

gee, this sounds familiar...
i hate going down the slippery slope, but still, the irony of this happening in the U.S. is astounding.

This will not end well.
Some people would be treated differently than others because of their race. and thats against the law.

I'm spanish and an Immigrant and I agree with this.
I agree that illegal immigrants should have NO rights in a US court neither should they inherit the rights of the Bill of Rights

but from what i can see from this, it allows the police to just go to some hispanic guy and ask for papers, and if they dont have it, they can get detained. people don't usually take their immigration papers everywhere they go, and the law is making it compulsory for hispanics to do that

Ridiculous.
Good thing I don't live in Arizona. Because a Hispanic like myself would be getting pulled over countless times by the cops just for the fun of it.

Keep tolerating shit like guys, is cool, WE are fine.
Is even hard for me to do a follow up comment, just such a pathetic nature being displayed by all on the prosecuting side is disgusting, also ftr I am 100% against illegal emigration.
At least one thing does make me happy and that is to know that the very same people supporting this are the first to get abused themselves.

Yes. The hispanics will have to wear bands on their arms with the mexican flag on it.
/sarcasm.
No, we can't get any stupider. This is probably the dumbest thing I have ever seen

that has nothing to do with why people have a problem with this.

Yeah, even people who don't agree with immigration think this is wrong. Regret what I said about the U.S in my previous comment. Obama actually tried to stop this.

It's the rednecks. Well the U.S is still stupid, considering our government ALLOWED THIS TO PASS.
This is literally on a parallel to the beginning of the Nazi Regime, and this is persecution to say the least.

They couldn't do anything. It was a state law. They stop it and the state will cry about the federal government taking over the states or some bullshit.

Well that's the point. We let this traditionalist idea that states can make any law they want, regardless of how ridiculous(ly unconstitutional) it is.
Coincidentally, this is the same state where John McCain is Senator. Imagine McCain was voted into office, and put this into effect countrywide.
Really, do we want to allow this hatred, and persecution in our country, people hate this law, and yet it can still be passed. Not bipartisan or for the people if you ask me.

The nation hates the law, but apparently 70% of AZ loves it. (We all know why though..)

There was a five day boycott in 1987 when Arizona refused to recognize Martin Luther King day. Mexico can have Arizona if they want it--I certainly don't.
