u can have a gf , hang with your friend and have a cool attitude and be 1st in your classroom

Nerd isn't necessarily an insult nowadays. I was known as a cool nerd back in high school. I made the grades but I pretty much kept my social life under control.
And the only way(the lazy procrastinator way)to be number one in any decent school is to cheat your way up and to get in good with all the other nerds because that is what I did. It was kinda like a support group just for us.
Then there's the study and work hard way. Naive and most ineffective way if you ask me. You have to have natural smarts to succeed this way.

Pay attention in class, don't sit near your friends. Read over the notes you take/get when you get home, then again before you sleep. Study at least 2 days before a test and always get enough sleep. Remember to eat before school.
If I did all this...You'd be surprised at how much of a difference it makes.

Even though I study a lot less than my classmates ... still have a good amount of friends and a girlfriend, yet I manage to get decent marks, so I don't even get how that makes you a nerd xD But have fun trying to be a nerd I guess ...

This, but I was like rank 50 or so out of 400ish. Freshman year ruined it for me lol. Except I hate honors and ap classes. Too much unnecessary work so I never bothered with it again.
I honestly wish I put a little more effort to be in the top 10 then that would be some accomplishment. To the OP the only thing I can say is being top 10 is better than nothing. How to improve? Put a little more effort.

I don't think you understand. Being smart doesn't mean you're a nerd, but a nerd isn't popular, hence the name nerd.

Whats with the ranking anyway? Can someone tell explain me the purpose of beeing the best one that learn and remember useless stuff that you can search up? Looking at your openings post you need to get some comunication skills.
