No matter who is president people will still complain or find at least one flaw, although I really don't see why people compare Obama to socialism, when really one person can't change our form of Government in the U.S. (Checks and balances.) I'm still sorta iffy on Obama, but even I'm confused. On Sarah Palin.. she has to be the dumbest person I've seen.

Um, socialism merely means the government provides social programs for the people(and therefore gains a considerable amount of power in the process). This has nothing to do with checks and balances. The US doesn't have to change its government to have socialist economic policies.

checks and balances don't work anymore. congress is stripped of most of its power. they don't declare war anymore, the president does after the war powers act was signed. they don't make money anymore, the fed chairman, who is appointed by the president, makes the decision on when to print money after the federal reserve act was passed, and then nixon took the US off the gold standard.
We're on the same road Russia fell on after Yeltsin made the Duma useless.

I had thought originally Europeans colonized America, raped and plundered the natives and took their lands, brought numerous deadly diseases, hauled hundreds of thousands of slaves from Africa to America, which is also a background cause for many a conflict in Africa these days, since the Europeans used coast tribes to capture slaves from the inland tribes.
