Look at the Germany national team.
Łukasz Podolski - Polish
Miroslav Klose - Polish
Mario Gómez - Spanish
Cacau - Brazilian
Serdar Tasci - Turkish
Jérôme Boateng - Ghana
Sami Khedira - Tunisia
Mesut Özil - Turkish
Piotr Trochowski - Polish
Andreas Beck - Russian
Aaron Hunt - English
Marko Marin - Bosnian
Kevin Kurányi (if he is recalled) - Brazilian / Panamanian

That doesn't make their team suck. And as long as all those guys have German citizenship then they can play for Germany. If they simply live in Germany just to play club football thats not enough for them to be in the national team. I hope you know that.

You need to have a pasport if you participate for the country you play with. So they are all Germans...

I don't think German football team sucks, I think they are good and are one of the favorites to win the world cup. Maybe the reason, there's a lot of foreign origin players in the squad, is that they are just better than the genuine germans atm.

That is no surprise...Brazil have high standards and a reputation to defend with a nation full of football talent. I bet players from all over Brazil line up every 4 years to make the national team. But not all can be picked so some of them will try to make the world cup by playing for other countries where their chances are better.

This takes me back to good 'German' jokes
One time I was on excursion with my class and we met another German class, so a classmate of mine said: "Entschuldigung, aber sie haben etwas verloren!" (Excuse me, but you lost something!) so the German kids are like 'wtf, what did we lose?', so they ask "Was haben wir verloren?" (What did we lose?) and my classmate said: "DER KRIEG, ZWEIMAL!" (THE WAR, TWICE!)
The look on their faces.. Oh man, I nearly pissed myself of laughing.
