Child abuse in the Catholic church

What do you guys think about it?
I think this proves the hypocrycy of the Western Nations. I'll take the Netherlands as an example.
Lately in the Netherlands there was a discussion about the expansion of the islam in the Netherlands. Alot of people see that as a national threat, this is also the main reason for Wilder's huge succes.
But now that the child abuse in the catholic church is exposed, I find it quite calm. I hear relatively few people complaining. The government is not interfering due to the separation of church and state. But if there is a separation of church and state, why are they interfering so much with the Islam?

theres plenty of hypocrisy in islam too. Don't start a religion war. Religion today is corrupt and broken at the highest levels. its a shame.

I disagree that media attention has been less for the catholic misconduct than for Islam related problems. The media has given a lot of attention to the child abuse by priests. Which is no surprise if the 'head priest' says: "Wir haben es nicht gewusst." (which is the excuse Germans used after the war; translates to "we didn't know about it" It's a very laden statement)
As far as interference by the state, I have not heard anything about a lack of interference because of separation of church and state. But if you think a bit about it, it's obvious the current government doesn't pay too much attention to the issues.. They're Christian parties, it doesn't put them in a good light either.
It's true however that Catholic child abuse isn't seen as a threat, that's because it doesn't change our current society. The increasing amount of Islam people in the Netherlands is changing the country and the culture, which is a completely different thing. People are afraid of the unknown and change, so the Islam is seen as more of a 'national threat'.
(Please note I am not saying that any party is better/worse or that anything should be broadcast less/more. I just don't think the Catholic church is getting off easy, they're getting their fair share of media attention)
Also, this is about the current Dutch issues. Things may be different in other parts of the world.

Maybe the government isn't interfering because we don't actually have one atm. They're busy with getting more voters.
Also the Netherlands is still a Christian country, so that could be why government isn't doing much against the child abuse, while they do try to keep us "Christian".

You see it everyday? Have you been doing anything about it?...because seeing it "everyday" and not doing anything kinda makes you a child abuse supporter.
