no shit...4chan didn't invent pictures of cats either but they certainly made it popular...this is how 4chan works, something gets posted, it catches on, everyone wants a piece of it. If 4chan didn't have any interest in it those above pictures wouldn't exist and its because 4chan has interest in it that most people either directly or indirectly found out about the game...
