if the volt has say a 100 mile radius on electricity and you only drive a total of 40 miles a day, then miles per gallon becomes irrelevant so 230 mpg shouldn't be a surprise.

Pretty sure that's how gas/electric cars work. Batteries charge while running on gasoline, once they're charged, goes back to electric.

toyota prius has that neat technology where the batteries charge from pressing on the brake pedal. Too bad I'm probably never going to get into one lol. Not sure if the volt uses the same technology.

They also have neat technology that causes them to accelerate to 90mph for no reason. :sohappy:
