Don't even feel like trying anymore :banghead:

How many tries did it take till you got yours?

First try hehe :/ You'll make it sometime, passing your test is not only about knowing how to drive, but you also need some luck with the road. How busy it is and ofcourse where the instructor sends you too.

1st try. What caused you to fail?

Have a friend with a car? Go to an empty parking lot at night and practice driving around..smooth acceleration, stopping, parking, etc...

yeah first try here too. What part did you fail on? Usually people have a lot of trouble with parallel parking. Make sure you practice that a lot.

1st time I failed because examiner says I didn't double check blind spot when changing lanes. I did but very fast.

2nd time I failed because I did a wide right turn and according to him sometimes I signaled too late.

$150 = $80 for rent a car + $40 book road test + $30 instructor
$300 = 2 times.

I'm so sad ...

PS: I don't have problem with parking. Parallel parking, 3point turn and reverse are all easy to me.

Depends on where you're from on what they actually test you on; here they don't test for parallel parking, but I thought they did.

Only took 1 try to pass the driving test; however, don't give up. Just get out and practice more.

its sounds like a big fat fucking scam to be honest. its all in the power of the instructor. and if they just want to make you pay them again all they have to do is say you didnt pass and they win.

150$.. That's like nothing. Here in holland you HAVE to take lessons.. And all together it costs about 2000$ (If you succeed first time)

Next time explain this is your third try. If he makes up some dumb excuse to fail you (wide turn, tha fu.ck?) kindly explain that you're the one driving and don't have a problem taking him to the nearest woods where you will leave his body in the ditch, dead.

JK...I guess drive better? I didn't have to take a driving test.

I have to parallel park almost everyday on campus, I'm pro. :P

yeah now that I see your numbers $300 wtf is that? your getting scammed. I only had to pay $50 and they let me use my dad's car. You sure your doing the exam with a certified guy? Get tested by a reputable company not some random guy. Or go ask your driving school to give you a list of their trusted examiners.

I passed both written and driving part of the test in 1 try but since I live in Maryland I had to pay $300 for stupid compulsory driver education classes where they told me don't do drugs or drink while driving... like I didn't know that

In England, so far my driving lessons have cost me just under $2000, and the two tests I have to take will cost me a further $200 or so. I have my test on 20th April :palm: All that is on top of the $2000 a year minimum for insurance, and probably the same amount for gas because the price on gas is stupidly high. So altogether for the first year of driving it will cost me something like $6200.

Thats not much money.

In England the expected amount of lessons people are supposed to take before passing is 40.

Each lesson is £20 = £800.

Theory + Practical test cost around £150 more if i recall corrrectly. So that equals £950 (so around $1300).

I had 10 lessons and passed on my first try equalling around £300 ($360 or so i think), and thats extremely quick for a English driver (i practiced before i was 17).

Dont give up man =]

It took me 3 times, each time cost me 4-5 extra lessons( €35 each) and 190 euros for each exam itself, so i know how that feels >.>

First time i failed for a real reason (saw a guy on a pedestrian crossing spot to late, dint hit him or anything xD but i scared him, lmao), second time because a guy comming from a sideroad from the right and waved his arm, politely letting me go first- the examinator was in a bad mood it seems, and failed me because i should have let him go first anyhow (aka, they wanted more of my money).

Third time was the charm, it probs went worse then the second time, made a few minor mitakes.

Once i really started driving myself it became a lot easier =] coz im more confident i guess( during your exam, and driving lessons- you always try to pay To much attention to everything you've learned, when you're driving in your own car, it just comes on its own).

Parking was always easy imo, always went perfectly for me on exams xD

I think my parents paid around 1200 euro total (theory/lessons/exams). Anyway, make sure you do everything really obvious, like checking the mirrors and the blindspot etc make sure he sees you looking around. My instructor said that at the end of the drive you should have pain in your neck from looking around for dangers etc :P It doesn't matter if you do it fast normally, I also check my back/side mirrors without moving my head now but at your exam you just have to show them you know how it's done. And ofcourse you gotta make sure you signal etc ^^ Again goodluck and I'm sure you will pass it soon :)
