Luger Killed on Practice run

Today at 10:40ish am, a luger Nodar Kumaritashvili was killed after losing control of his sled and hitting a pole at 140 km/h.

did anyone see the ceremony an hour ago, i feel embarrassed to be a Canadian after watching the torch lighting fail, and the truck carrying 99 had tape all over the front, wtf?! not a good openning so far

i got home late and that was where i started so all i seen was failure. heard the rest was good, but that hydraulic failure just made me facepalm.

Pretty tragic, I guess it was human error on his side, but I wonder why those pillars were not padded or something.

they showed this video like 10 times on the news yesterday..even showed coverage of the medical staff trying to give mouth2mouth/chest pumping...shit was so graphic..90 mphs to a dead stop on a steel beam..

Idk, it didnt look that bad, like other crashes.
To me it just looked like a guy slid off his thing and hit a pole no blood everywhere, no debri anywhere, no crashing fyi. Looks fake imo.

He went from 90mph to 0 in a split second...from hitting a steel beam.

yea i seen it, it just didnt look that bad. if something was broke it'd look backwards like his face shoulda been facing the way his back is, so its twisted around to make it look bad. it just looked like something you'd see in a movie when some1 died to make it look tragic, but know its fake.
