So me and a mate got into a conversation today about child hood memories. And the subject came up of Pokemon cards. Now I'm wondering,did any of you guys collect Pokemon cards in the past as kids?

I did, I collected a lot of cards in the early 2000's and put them all in the binders. I don't think I ever learned how to play them properly but I collected them for fun. I remember I use to have about 4 finders full of them.

I would go to the park with a few cards and trade them, those were the days

I actually did but then.... I'm not sure the "Pokemon Card thing" lasted long tho... because Yu-gio-oh kinda took over

Yu-Gi-Oh was the shit! I still have lots of good cards. As for Pokemon I have a shitload of them too

I was never really interested in collecting the cards but I did know how to play the game.

meh/ at age of 5-7 I collected titanic cards...than pokemon, then digimon, than few yu-gi-oh then grow up xD

As for this I just remember a funny thing about someone collecting it. Like most people here won't give a shit, but I find it amusing. A kid's dad thought the cards would collect value over the years(hurr durr) so he used to buy like 5~10 packs a week thinking that.

I had pokemon first, than yu-gi-oh. Didn't have any friends to play pokemon with so I stopped collecting those. Something about a super christian school and making Pokemon banned kinda made all the kids afraid. I was a problem child though. Was in detention or principle's office twice a day. Every month I would purposely end up 1 detention short of suspension... Good times XD.

I got tons of first edition cards

I still have at least 3 boxes of them and a card binder, maybe I'll auction them off on ebay like 40 years from now or give it to my kids and tell them I used to play those

Collected Pokemon cards but never understood how to play.
Yu-gi-oh was actually pretty fun back then.
Playing Magic: The Gathering now. I only play during the weekly tourneys though.

Pokemon was awesome! I had like two binders of them and on the weekends would go to the local toys r us with a friend and we'd do the little tournaments, was fun. Good times.

Pokemon > everything, though Magic seemed interesting and more complex, but I never got into at that time.

Nope, I tried once, but I ended up buying the wrong type of pokemon cards line xD.

Afterwards I didn't bother anymore, cause I couldn't even understand how to play the damn game.

Yu-GI-Oh > pokemon any day anyway.
Squirt, for your information, the god cards didn't exist. And it never was about them anyway. The game was a bit different from the one you see on TV.
