1. Iron Maiden
2. AC/DC
3. Megadeth
4. Dream Theater
5. Red Hot Chili Peppers

Rock/Metal is too huge to get just 5 from.
Especially since they're completely different genres.

Yeah SOAD is awesome, I own all their albums. I think they're first album is their best though.

Any list without AC/DC and the Beetles just isn't a list!
-AC/DC; for having the second highest selling album of all time, behind Michael Jackson's "Thriller"
-The Beetles because they are, well, The Beetles. Probably the most famous band of all time.

Nirvana, Breaking Benjamin, Foo Fighters, CAKE, and Tokio Hotel are my favorite Rock/Metal bands.

iirc Serj and Daron's stuff together doesn't add up to a SOAD album. They made great music on their own, but was much better when they were together.

My choice would probably be:
1. King Crimson (prog rock)
2. Gentle Giant (prog/art rock)
3. Opeth (prog death metal)
4. The Residents (the godfathers of mindfuck)
5. Jesu (experimental/drone rock/metal, idk how to even put it in a single genre)
