Martin Rouse, 57, said he was "trying to be cool" when he stripped to the waist in front of his classroom of 14-year-old students but an education review board found him guilty of serious misconduct, the Daily Mail newspaper reports.
The teacher's strip tease came to light after a student at Sudbury Upper School in Suffolk, eastern England taped the incident on a mobile phone and uploaded the video to YouTube.
A student at the school told the Daily Mail the pupils found the stunt hilarious.
"People were goading him saying, 'I bet you haven't got their muscles'...he told us all 'I'll show you' and started taking off his shirt," the newspaper quoted an unnamed student as saying.
Mr Rouse was fired immediately by the school principal David Forrest when a colleague found out what had happened.
The teacher was then banned from teaching at all 357 schools in the Suffolk County Council area.
Mr Rouse has defended his actions, saying he was "trying to look cool" and win the respect of his students.
"I generally have a fairly humorous rapport with the students because it helps them to work — it is not entertainment for entertainment's sake."

It says that he only stripped to the waist, if you mean by just the top half being naked, then most people/kids probably would of seen 100s of half naked men. During the summer, when it's hot, most men take their tops off.
