Hey guys,
So I have to do an assignment for school(don't stop reading).
It's for Computer Science.
I want to virtually create my school so you can walk in it like an FPS (First Person Shooter).
I tried to Google it, but I couldn't really find decent software for creating such thing.
So my question is: Do you know this kind of program to create a virtual 3D environment?
Hope to hear from u guys soon

Milkshape 3d or
MisfitIf you need to find out how to use either of them, I can give you a tutorial, but its meant for Halo 2 xD Same process essentially, except you start from scratch, not with a pre-made model.
Well, I suppose if you have halo 2, half life, CS, or Quake, you could use milkshape to make the model, put it in game, then walk around in it.

Lol, one of our Seniors had done that. you had to walk around the school and shoot zombie teacher with squirt guns xD
it looked so funny xD
but sadly I can't really help you. I think I have the senior's MSN, so I'll ask him when he comes on line.
ps: You could probably try Gmod.

Thats going to be really hard. The first thing that comes to mind is to do it with Source. HL2 can look decent when it wants to.
Not sure that it jives with what your learning though.

Well, thanks for the replies all.
I'm going to try some of your software mentioned.
Will post the results if I have some

P.S.: I looked for the software you told me, but the all require the games, like Unreal or HalfLife to run. I'm not going to show my teacher my self-designed school in a First Person Shooter lol.

I remember there was a story about some kid that made a cs map of his school, and he was arrested cause they thought it was used to plan out some sort of bomb attack LOL

Autocad Architectual 2010thats a pretty damn expensive program though and its got a bit of a steep learning curve.
I'm working on a commercial space rendering with it right now

Yeh I already know about this programs, but they are even used in the militairy circuit, so I don't think I'm going to learn Autocad

I'm now going to check GameMaker6.
Thanks for asking the senior

dont use gamemaker for a 3d enviroment seriously, use source engine or unreal editor (from unreal 2003)
gamemaker is just about the worse thing you can use for a 3d enviroment

I don't know much about this stuff, but I think you should probably listen to masterwong. We don't have the choice of using a different program so far as I know, so it's quite likely not the best thing for a 3D environment.
