I have some weird double standard..

I'll steal a pc game but not a console game..I view them as totally different things

I only make copies of games I own, my drive is flashed to play them. I have a disk drive that tends to scratch up my disks, which is why I make copies of them. I've been modding, and flashing for over 5 years now, no single ban. All you have to do is not play games that are un-released, and always keep your firmware updated.

Justice, same should go for pc gamers...Except ofcourse what deedee does, when you own the game already you can copy it and all, but then it's illegal to sell those copies =p haha

It still violates the ToS when you mod your console so they have the right to close your account. You can get caught easily and you'll have no way to argue out of it when/if it happens.

I know it's too hard to ban every pc gamer that pirates, that's why I said it should go for the pc gamers, I know it won't happen.

The only time I "steal" games is when I'm too lazy to bid for them online and pay a mind-blowing $400 price for an old game released 13 years ago. If people want to pirate, so be it - just as long as they understand that it does have its risks.

I understand all the risks taken involving making copies of games that I bought. I do not distribute, or even lend the disks, I do not offer services (even to friends) to mod their machine in any way. Also, Azilius, the only way to get banned easily is network tampering, and not updating your firmware, playing copied disks is less of a risk if you copied it off a disk you purchased. Each disk has a security layer, which contains information of when that disk was made, and its own "serial number". Its pretty obvious to M$ when they see 600,000 of the same serial number . The only time you can really get caught is downloading ISO's off websites, and playing that game on old drive firmware. I'm not saying its safe to even burn and use your own copies, but theres less risk involved than using one that was uploaded on a site. Most of what I do now is just modifying the game (Halo 2/3), and never for cheating purposes, only for fun. Its amazing how crazy some people will go when they find out somebody is a modder xD. Maybe later when I put my Xbox together, I'll post a picture.

I find it funny that some anti-bot people seem to think it's ok to violate M$'s TOS, but not ok to bot...

lolz, I guess everybody fell for that fraudulent firmware update. I flashed back to original firmware until the new version comes out XD. Sadly, it will be another 2 months or so till it does.

You do have a point, I heard of the modded Xbox and liked that Linux port.

i keep hearing there is already a way to unbrick the consoles ... make of that what you will...

Well SRO botters could say the same thing too. I'd rather have a stock 360 and have a live account rather than enjoy a modded 360 for a few months only to get it banned

Chipping is out of date, most places can't even make them anymore due to legal issues. Originally, chips were used because modifying the drive firmware, or any other operation wasn't easy to do at the time. Also, chips are typically plug and play, and you don't have to take apart the disk drive+flash it, less risk involved for idiots. And some people prefer console controls, and extra portability of the system. Who hauls their PC around every time they want to go somewhere to play games. Sorry, that was kinda off of what you said, but oh well XD

Anyone realize the perfect time they made the ban? Many people wanting to play MW2. Many fags will rage due to their failure and "buy"(Really depends if the person will return the 'new') a new 360+Live. Microsoft just cashed in more money just because of the pirating. If was posted it's now up to a million.. guaranteed that at least a quarter of that rebuy a new 360.

Sadly.. the 360 will be on the top list of systems sold this month because of this perfect marketing scheme.. lulwut. Kinda odd how that worked out.

With the price of buying another 360, you could of probably bought the games legit.

Yup you answered your own question .. I like to try out new games but I am not paying 60$ for each game especially since there is a big change they might suck .. so I just download the games play on modded 360 first and if its good and has multi-player replay value I buy them .. like halo 3 and cod6.. and yea my modded one got banned reason was because "I had violated the terms by modifying my xbox360"

I got banned too Cant beat Games for 5$ each.

Gonna go buy a 360 elite, swap out the insides and take it back. Game to you microsoft.
