Ughh, HAve we forgotten the point of games?

Well I've finally had it with these stupid gamers. It seems as if the whole world has forgotten the point of games.
It seems that all everyone wants now a days is to get a one kill shot or to get the "best weapons" and kill their enemies in 1 attack.
What ever happened to the days were people could just play together and not get called a "noob" just because it took them a whole clip to kill an enemy? THAT IS WAR. In real life you can't just aim and kill every enemy on the first shot. I don't know how the hell some people find 1 shot killing fun. I want the whole experience by releasing my load all over the place and hoping that one of the bullets hits a person.

It seems as if the last "mature" community that I have seen is in TF2. The game may be cartoony but it is a hella lot better than COD MW.
I don't know if its just me, but it seems as if everyone has forgotten that the point of a game is to have fun.
[/rant]
If anyone knows of a game with a community that isn't full of complete morons feel free to post it here.

Ps. Played COD MW 2; Think the game has good potential. First mission was fun but shooting civilians :3. Campaign --> Multi player (Unless its with friends)

And yes, almost everyone has. Instead of having fun people are more worried about having the newest, shiniest, best, gear and weapons. It's kind of sad.

Great story.... but LOL

You are playing FPS games.... ofcourse people want to kill you with one shot.... thats the point of the game to win.

If you want to play a game that is dependent on skill then go play an RTS... FPS is made to be fast and reward those who put the effort to learn the game while still being noob friendly.

If I play the game and unlock a gun that kills you in one shot why would I choose to use one that needs 3 or 4.. that makes no sense.

Simple, a community that is not full of little kids whose parents don't monitor gaming does not exist online. I suggest you have LAN parties with your IRL friends. Little 8 y/o's screaming at you for every time you kill them does not make for a fun game environment. Also, about the 1 hit thing if there is a 1 hit weapon in a game, it should take skill to use (Like Sniper Rifles, or Spartan Lazorz). Auto-aim(assistance, not total) and Bullet Magnetism have plagued quite a few games because companies have "dumbed" things down. And to the above, I don't like games that add multi-player perks. Everybody should be given the same material to work with, things like more weapons, or stronger armors/upgrades should not be allowed in Multi-player FPS games.

This is what I've been saying for years now -__-
Nowadays everyone is going Realism > Fun.

The Game World needs a brick in it's face to wake up and escape it's own demise.

Anyone with me now, when I say I wanna join Double Fine productions?

@Elements
Cus shooting 1 shot and killing someone is boring as shit.
Do you know why everyone loves Halo?
- Cus you get to go in an all out rage, empty 3 clips of SMG ammo, finally kill the motherf*cker and then be proud of yourself.

you cannot deny that killing with the human smg was more fun than the alien laser weapons, even though it took much less effort

There are very few weapons in any game that allow you to kill in one shot, and even with those weapons its not exactly an easy task unless you practice and get good.

If you are playing FPS on console then you are already cutting your experience in half... FPS is a PC game type and Halo is a shit FPS lol.

Yes the FPS genre has moved away from arcade shooters, mainly because of the fact that they werent selling in large numbers like the more realistic games were. Even so COD and alike are far from realistic in any way.

Consoles are made to entertain little kids and the online community of them reflects that, I have never been on a PC game and had somebody scream and call people gay or **** or what ever else they do on consoles.... If you want to enjoy your gameplay as far as FPS goes you have to play on a PC. As we have seen with MW2 console FPS are inferior in everything but player numbers and even that is pretty close, there really is no reason to even consider playing FPS on console... the interface sucks the community is full of little kids and the games themselves are poor imitations of what they are supposed to be.

:O HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?! I got to find out what game you play! Seems Garry's Mod, TF2, and CoD are all packed with screaming little kids >_<. While it is much worse on XBL, its still really bad on PC. Seriously, what game are you playing that doesn't have screaming bad kids?
At least the servers I play on in Gmod have rules against little kids. If you are 12 and under you can't use a mic, and if you start annoying people you're b& forever xD

Who says I play on a console?
Halo 1: Combat Evolved - Xbox, PC

Halo is by far the best shooter I have played. It has a great story compared to 90% of all the other shooters (and many other genres as well). And playing is simply enjoyable, not frustrating.

I play COD4, COD2, COD WaW, TF2, L4D, Farcry 2, BF2

I have never heard a kid act like a retard over mic in any of those games, perhaps you just choose poor servers or use the auto game function. I would suggest favoriting servers that dont have kids and play on those.

I dont know why you seemingly have such bad luck lol

LOL I have Halo on PC and it sucks monkey balls. It highlights the massive margin between PC and console made games, I suppose if you like that type of thing it might be okay but for an FPS game it is nowhere near the peak of the mountain as far as choice for PC games goes, there were games out years before it that pull it off better.

Games enable that. Look at MW2. A Farking nuke in multiplayer? Whats that all about? Stuff like last stand and some of the other stupid perks they put in the first one were enough to piss me off. Having some ahole get a 1,000,000 kill streak just because he plays the game WAY more than I do is BS.

Reading the first part of your title I thought this might be about Veteran's Day, but then it was just nerd rage :P

It's tough to find a game community that isn't full of 12 year olds who think they are the best thing since sliced bread. That's why I usually play COD or something other game with my actual friends, and not random people hoping they are mature, which will almost never be the case.

But thats really what keeps these kids coming back...or else they would be bored and xbox360/microsoft wouldnt make money off xbox live and all that stuff

eh...

"fun" ...such a subjective term to use that varies slightly or greatly from one pair of eyes to the next...

Some enjoy being able to kill in one shot, others obviously won't .... you shouldn't try to class everyone under the same tastes for anything.

As for the morons part ....every game you'll play online w/ other people, you'll eventually run into some jackasses or immature people.

That's pretty much the meaning of FPSs. You play a lot --> you get better ---> you kill more than others.

Your statement makes no sense.

I remember those computer shop LAN games for CS. It's always a fun idea to throw someone off their game by annoying the living shit out of them. =D
