I drive every day for at least an hour, and more than half of that is changing stations every time I find a (c)rap song on that station, which is a lot of stations. Rap was never good.

Don't expect to find good rap on the radio. The majority of the rap on the radio is just party music: good beat & simple lyrics.

I'm no real fan of techno, though I won't say it's shit, or none of it's good, just because my tastes lead me else where in terms of 'considerations' compared to someone else's, but then again, that's a supposed given.
That and the slightly biased view of: "well, I don't like this...maybe all of it's somewhat like that...turn it off 'n pay it no mind towards looking forward to something within this genre that might turn my head."

One of my friend's described rap as "thugish, angry, violent, and stupid." First I asked him what rap he had been listening to; he said Soulja Boy. I asked how he came to the conclusion Soulja "Twat" was "thugish, angry, or violent" from songs like "crank that" and "hey, you there." I made him listen to some Jeezy, Kid Cudi, Pre-808s Kanye, Technique, and game. I requested he pay attention to the lyrics, he now coins it "happy rap."
People that don't like rap rarely have valid reasons, for ex; if one were to take a terrible song and have a "screamo" rock band scream the lyrics - without informing the listeners that they're listening to what was a rap song - they will enjoy it. When informed it's rap suddenly the song is "bad." It's a pathetic strawman of rap.

From what I have heard, Eminem, Kid Cudi, 50 Cent, Tupac. They are all bad, it's disgraceful, and plays out as just noise. I haven't heard any type of sound as annoying, and just plain stupid as that.

I listen to all genres of music and appreciate what they all bring to the table in their own unique way, if I hear one song or artist that sucks from a specific genre I don't generalize and conclude that entire genre sucks.
