I for one am excited about this matchup. Phillies vs Yankees. Everyone on the phillies lineup has come up with a big play this post season and my favorite was Rollins walk off double in the bottom of the ninth with 2 outs in NLCS game 4. Anyone else waiting to see the Yankees get crushed?

I saw the entire yankee game today, I was so happy to see them win. Angels were having the worst luck.
I didn't have time to watch the philly game, but that was a nice play, down by one too? I must admit yankees are gonna have it tough against them.

Yea especially considering they only get 2 days of rest while the philles had a week but I don't want them using that as an excuse.

Haha I'll be bumping this thread when the series starts. Other than Hamels and perhaps Feliz's half assed shit at 3rd base I think our team's pretty solid. Our bullpen is looking alot better than yours too.

It always annoys me that they call it the world series...just seems very arrogant to me. Anyway...I hope the yankees lose so I can give my friend who's a huge yankee fan shit.

Off topic question: Why do they call it "World Series" since it's USA and Canada only?

I hate baseball.
One time, waiting for house to come on fox, I was sentenced to watching some baseball. It went something like this:
1) Guy walks up to the plate (30 seconds) 2) Guy swings to the air warming up his arms (20 seconds) 3) Pitcher starts getting ready to throw (10 seconds) 4) Pitcher throws and batter misses (0.5 seconds) 5) Batter complains walks in a circle and shrugs it off (60 seconds) 6) Pitcher starts getting ready to throw (10 seconds) 7) Pitcher throws and batter misses (0.5 seconds) Batter complains walks in a circle and shrugs it off (60 seconds) 9) Pitcher starts getting ready to throw (10 seconds) 10) Pitcher throws and batter hits it, it flies really high and far (4 seconds) 11) Someone catches it and throws it back to home base (5 seconds) *********60 second pause********* Repeat steps 1 to 11; 3 times for each team (6 times)... 9 times for a total of 54 times -- if you're lucky and it doesn't get extended.
When I was in highschool they had everyone that played on a sport team go on a field trip every year. One year we went to see the Blue Jay's play. That shit was horrendous; I literally spent all my money in the first 15 minutes of the game because I couldn't stand sitting down and attempting to watch it.
Exciting shit:
Code: Select all
For the Europeans: One accomplishment as a pitcher is to get a no-hitter. It`s where the pitcher manages to go the whole game without letting the other team hit the ball. Consequently, it means the game is literally like the clip above except instead of being a minute long, it`s hours long.

Cliff Lee was absolutely amazing tonight. That behind the back catch was spectacular and he makes it look so easy. Utley with 2 homers off CC. Phillies take the lead 1-0 in the series.

The score's not even the sad part. By the 8th inning it seemed as though half the yankees fans left the stadium in a f***ing World Series. Some fans they are.
