An isoseceles triangle has two sides of length 2x+3. The perimeter of the triangle is 16x+24.
Determine the ratio of the base to the perimeter, in simplified form.

I feel like it would be a disservice to your academic growth if I just give you the solution and the answer. Show us what you have so far first.

Find what the base is, in terms of mx+b using the two sides you know set equal to the perimeter given.

Determine the ratio between the base (found doing above) and the perimeter given.

If that makes any sense.. lol. It's simple, but hard to explain without completely giving it away.

Base is 12x+18?

Its the latter that confuses me, my teacher only talked about ratios for like 1 minute and I didn't think it was important; so I didn't write a note of what it was lulz

if you have 50 cookies and i have 10 cookies. 50/10 = 5/1 = 5 or 50:10 , 5:1.
the ratio of apples you and i have is 5 to 1.

do your homework yourself, and stay awake during class next time
luckily, teachers in my university don't really allow students to sleep in class, since it's barely 15-30 students per class, it is very noticeable and embarrassing, so noone really does it.

you make a lot of homework help threads O_O lol, I advise instead of coming after school and getting on SRF, I advise you to spend a hour afterschool getting tutored or doing some extra studying

Man I don't understand the English terms for this, I'm decent in easy maths but I don't understand what's being asked.

=[(16x+24)-2(2x+3)]/(16x+24)...set up the fraction
=[(16x+24)-(4x+6)]/(16x+24)...distributed the 2
=[(16x-4x)+(24-6)]/(16x+24)...grouped like terms
=(12x+18)/(16x+24)...added like terms in the numerator
=[6(2x+3)]/[8(2x+3)]...factored out the greatest common factor for the numerator and denominator
=6/8...(2x+3) is in numerator and denominator so it canceled out
=3/4...reduced the fraction

base:perimiter = 3:4

Ha, I took a probability and statistics test Friday that raped me. Continuous random variables, discrete random variables hypergeometric distribution, binomial distribution, fuuuuuuuuuuu. Some of it is simple, but the way they word stuff on the test and the way he lectures... I'm having trouble catching on. I wanna go back to calculus

Usually people take both and see which they understand better. I hate math, but I catch on to calc much faster than stats. I entered college and was offered to jump straight to calc 3. I suck ass at stats though, even though it seems like just memorizing and manipulating data and basic formulas. Guess i'm better at discreet stuff.

Stats, Calc I, and Calc II are required for my CS major.

I'm actually taking idiot math right now in college because I farked the placement test up backwards. I'm not sure why but things are a lot easier to understand this time around.

I only vaguely remember things from geometry, one thing that stands out though is how badly I sucked at it. Ask me again in about 6 months.

By the time I'm done school though I'll be through statistics and all that typical shit.

I <3 trig. Its the only part of math I could probably get 100% in.

For 2 or 3 weeks I was too embarrassed to ask what she was talking about when referring to the "mean"; I had no Farking clue. It was my first ever math class/school in English.
