Tech Level Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: soft keys, quiet typing, media + shortcut keys are helpful to a certain extent, program doesn't use much system resources.
Cons: cannot do MANY combined key strokes. in CS:S i cannot do space+ctrl, or CTRL + Space bar to do the higher jump (or w/e its called)

in desktop, cannot do CTRL + X, CTRL + C, CTRL + V for cut copy paste. wow. i got this for $1/AR but i haven't gotten the rebate yet. i am NOT happy with this keyboard and will be hesitant to buy another ocz input device in the future. OCZ looks like they will NOT be fixing this for the consumers.
Other Thoughts: NOT a gaming keyboard, it is falsely advertised as one.

ocz needs to fix these problems for the consumers that are behind them at one point.

Manufacturer Response:Hello, multiple keystrokes are controlled by the keyboard matrix. Different keyboards use a different matrix. We suggest using another key combination. Key assignments can be done in the game menu. We are sorry that this product did not suit your needs.
Thank you

From what I remembered, somebody in GD said that using your 4th mouse key as a macro for silkroad is just like botting. =|

I've bought the OCZ Illuminati keyboards along with my PC, tbh i'm not really that happy about it.
It does have the useful media keys, and it has some cool lights together with an affordable price.

But from the start the keys were very "rusty" they seemed to get stuck easy and sometimes you would need a lot of force to hit a key. Now i've got for a few months and i've gotten used to this, together with the keyboard loosening up after being used for those months, it did get better but keys still get stuck sometimes and it doesn't feel that natural.

Been thinking about being a new keyboard but i've been spending too much lately lol..

Just give me an old IBM keyboard. Don't need all these bells and whistles.

Never could get used to soft, low clearance keys. I need something to press, goddamn it.

Lol I can work with any keyboard as long as it doesn't get stuck or the keys are big enough. Although I want to try the laser keyboard that my cousin's planning to buy. Imagine typing on a table -_-

I've been using the Alchemy Elixir by OCZ for about 5 months now.

I have the full L buttons programmed to execute macros in Aion and in CSS (quick buys for pcws/matches). I used to have them all binded back when I still played high end PvE in WoW.
Many many hunter macros that just shave a few milliseconds off your timing and thus up your DPS.

This keyboard is simply brilliant. I'm using it together with my G5 (full weight).

In comparison to the G15, this one is EXACTLY the same for your money. Not to mention the macro keys are actually reachable whilst still on WASD. I love this keyboard. Really one of the better products that I ever had hardware wise. Really worth the small price.

Oh and you can program a nice key for duallies in CSS that empty your clip in about 2 seconds :P

@ The review someone posted, that's not true. You can do the crouchjump properly...
All you need to do is change the default delay (250ms = 1/4th of a second) to 50ms and THEN give space. I personally don't use it but I have tried it and it works.. you need to actually know what you're doing.

I remember a serious ghosting problem with the elixer keyboard which is the main reason I switched over. When I had the driver installed I had extreme ghosting (couldn't hold down more than 2 keys which became a HUGE issue in FPS)

I made a post on their support problems and the tech guy told me it was ghosting and I'd have to deal with it. He said he couldn't comment on why the driver caused it...so I said **** it and got a G15, never looked back. I also love the back light (I do 90% of my gaming at night) and the LCD screen helps me manage my temps..

Rather buy a tarantula (great keyboard, had one for like 2 years and gave it away when I got my MX5500). This is like a knock-off tarantula.

Must admit I love my MX5500, although a bit pricey

I was thinking of getting a Razer Lycosa to match my mouse and leave my MX5500 on my table all the time, but I hear they have a lot of issues with them.

The Sidewinder looks like it's a pretty good keyboard too. Red mouse/keyboards are hard to find too, unless you go into saitek.

Oh, and all the saitek stuff looks like shit.

The old Saitek LED keyboards were pretty rugged. I've got one that survived a small fire kicking around somewhere. Still works even though the keys are a little deformed lol.

The alchemy elixir is ghosting-free? (Forgot to add that to my post).
So to be clear, for example, I can press ctrl+e to crouchjump and still walk/strafe.

Or execute a bind on left L buttons going forward and crouching. That's a typical PEEP-er. lol.

Are you 100% sure you've not switched the two around?

@Dom, yea that first one you posted is good too. Good friend of mine uses it.

I'm 100% it's not ghosting free or anything close. The tech guy on their forums said it was a problem I'd have to deal with.

I guess you have the ultra special version then. There's no reason I'd lie about the keyboard =\

If you search their tech support forums you'll find a few topics about it.
