As he is driving home from a minister's conference, Baptist minister Don Piper collides with a semi-truck that crosses into his lane. He is pronounced dead at the scene. For the next 90 minutes, Piper experiences heaven where he is greeted by those who had influenced him spiritually. He hears beautiful music and feels true peace. Back on earth, a passing minister who had also been at the conference is led to pray for Don even though he knows the man is dead. Piper miraculously comes back to life and the bliss of heaven is replaced by a long and painful recovery. For years Piper kept his heavenly experience to himself. Finally, however, friends and family convinced him to share his remarkable story.

Synopsis:
Get a glimpse of heaven On the way home from a conference, Don Piper's car was crushed by a semitruck that crossed into his lane. Medical personnel said he died instantly. While his body lay lifeless inside the ruins of his car, Piper experienced the glories of heaven, awed by its beauty and music. 90 minutes after the wreck, while a minister prayed for him, Piper miraculously returned to life on earth with only the memory of inexpressible heavenly bliss. His faith in God was severely tested as he faced an uncertain and grueling recovery. Now he'd like to share his life-changing story with you. 90 Minutes in Heaven offers a glimpse into a very real dimension of God's reality. It encourages those recovering from serious injuries and those dealing with the loss of a loved one. The experience dramatically changed Piper's life, and it will change yours too. Don Piper is minister of education and single adults at the First Baptist Church in Pasadena, Texas. He has appeared on Christian television and radio programs, writes a weekly newspaper column, and leads conferences and retreats in the United States and abroad. Cecil Murphey has written or coauthored ninety-one books, including his work on the autobiography of Franklin Graham, Rebel with a Cause.
Synopsis:
Baptist minister Piper tells of experiencing heaven for the 90 minutes he was pronounced dead at the scene of a car accident. After miraculously coming back to life and working through a long and painful recovery, friends and family finally convinced him to share his remarkable story.

dead for 90 minutes...loss of oxygen to the brain after that amount of time should have caused irreparable damage...not to mention the cellular damage caused in other parts of the body toes and fingers should've been the first to go....either

A. He wasn't really dead
B. He can heal brain damage and did go to heaven

I'm inclined to believe A on simple logic but i suppose a combination of the two could account for his experience. I'd be much more interested in this story had it not defied all known medical knowledge...say, 2 minutes in heaven...would be hilarious if this turned into something like A Million Little Pieces and Oprah destroys him...

This AND

He keeps it to himself. During that time he thinks of a way to use his accident to push his agenda and make some money. People will say "We'll the accident was true why would the other half not be?". You lead people in with a few truths then once you get there trust they will stop questioning you. Its bullshit.

When you going to die usually your brain make a substance meant to make you happy/less scared before dying(sry don't work if you got shooted with a gun in brain ...),Heaven do exist, but only in your head.

I was intrigued by the concept, but I would've liked it more if a convinced atheist would go to heaven. A character like Hank Moody or something, that would be sweet.
Not really interested in this stealth propaganda.

This shits a big fat Farking lie. None have been to heaven except jesus. (this is strictly a biblical perspective, considering he claims to follow the same word he contradicts.

this doesnt go for those of you who disbelieve in religion in general.

If it was Fiction like the Left Behind series it makes for decent reading. I mean one can always picture a heaven.

I never believe on heaven. Heaven and Hell was written concept(concept is not the right word i'm looking) by Dante Alighieri on his book titled the "DIVINE COMEDY". I may be living in a christian way, just like Gaige is in a christian school, but for him its his education... mine in the other hand is the Adventist life style :)

p.s dont click on the url maybe you'll regret it :D
