The Trabi is back :3
trabants have always been my favorite cars. they just look so addorable even if they're made of cardboard for the most part
anyway here's the news: it returns, this time as an electric car.
The Trabant nT
this is how it's gonna look:
kinda reminds me of a mini cooper. I'm a little sad to see it still only has 2 doors D:
on the other hand I'm really glad they didn't change it too much from it's original design, and I'm really digging the back lights.

That car looks pretty cool.

yeah, we used to own one. Later when we moved abroad we bought a new Ford, and left the trabant in the hands of our neighbours. when we returned, most of the car's parts had been stolen and that there was a hole in the floor. we used it for about as long as we could. and in the end we gave it to some friend as extra car parts.
it was one of those blue-green ones (not the sky-blue ones).

did you say cardboard...i miss the days when cars were safe and durable...thumbs down on the car btw but im not a fan of old car styles, just their materials...

lol, I meant the old Trabant was made of cardboard. this one isn't being produced yet so we'll see later, but I think this time it'll be of alot higher quality.
also, the old trabi was from the 50's
it was the poor man's bear cavalry.

In that case a trabant would not be something to cherish for it's materials. If I recall correctly, trabants are made out of some sort of plastic.

apparantly it's cotton, squashed together and heated to a 1000C. and then given the correct shape.
now to all people who seem to be bothered by the cardboard part...
back when it was actually produced people didn't have much of a choice. there were only 4 types of cars in all town. Lada being the absolute most awesome one of them.
my father had to wait 9 years for his request to buy one to be processed and approved.
thus, most people love it for it's happy aura, the cosy vrooming and happy memories, not for it's safety and horsepower. btw there is actualyl a myth that crashing with a trabi is much safer than crashing with a BMW.

Lol it's a cute little car, I don't think I'd want to drive it though. And those pics of things people have done with them, awesome. Kind of reminds me of what people here do with old Volkswagen buses.
