lul to whoever was like OMG TIME MACHINE.

anyway my question is.. say i had a time machine.. and i would let u use it to go EITHER to the future OR the past, one or the other, not both. and then let u come back to the present. which would u go to and why?

me and my friends had this convo today, surprisingly a ton of people said the past.. i wont tell u reasons.

i picked future, because i want to see what life is like when my grandkids have grandkids.

Future , so i can see the future lottery numbers .

to be quite honest, i wouldn't go. if you go to the past you change the present, and if you go go the future, that same future won't happen. i don't wanna know whats gonna happen and i don't really have any questions from the past. life goes on. and if you start changing the past, things are gonna get fcked up in the present.

fck... just got me thinking, think i would go to the past, and fix a day. save a life. although, if its what its meant to be, it would be like the movie the time machine, and the life would be unsavable...

I would for sure go to the past. Going into the future would do one of the two things:

Spoil the surprise of life

or

Learn of something I wouldn't want to know of yet.

he summed it up nicely going to the past would change things and going to the future would well change the future because you know whats going to happen

Anywho, I don't think time travel as we think of it is possible.

/Sits back and waits for internet PHDs to prove him wrong.

I'd probably go back in time to the late 1700's and observe some of the most amazing naval battles evar.

QUESTION:

If I have a time machine and I tell myself that I will go back in time and set my alarm to 4:50 pm. Will my alarm already be set to 4:20 pm or would I actually have to go and do it.
But if I was planning on doing it then doesn't that mean that I already did it?
But that would mean that I would have to go back in time and do it myself, but then again it would also mean that I already did it since I was going to go do it.

Uh definitely future. The past I can just open a history book. How is anything in the past exciting its all unsanitary, no good food, no internet, no pr0n, no movies. But if you go to the future well thats so much better cause you could travel in space, and do other cool stuff you won't ever be able to do in your lifetime.

time is something you shouldnt worry about, its so easy to **** up i rather relaity hopping before we get time machines would fix a lot of problems created by time travel

say you go to the future to get the loto numbers, coming back to the past with this knowlage and buying the ticket with those numbers changes everything, you simply coming back could alter chance that those numbers come up, you go to the past and kill a bug.

that bug might bite or fly by someone influencing them to go to a certain place or do something that could effect you now

paradoxs are a bitch, time is insane to think about the more you think about it the more insanly stupid it gets

if you can hop realitys you can do what ever the **** you want in the past hell **** your grandma travel back to the future then jump back to your reality what you did aint happened or has happened but your back in your reality and the action that happen cause an alternate reality which you hopped from bring you back to yours

i sound insane but think about it

but your present wont change if someone goes to the past and kills your mom it just makes an alternate reality your past carrys on as it was thats set in stone and cannot be changed

yeah probably. I like history too but I don't know if I want to go back and see historical events like d-day or stuff. I really don't want to see people dying :/
I think maybe I want to go back to see how armor and weapons really looked like long time ago, or how the pyramids were built. Oh and I also want to go back far enough for the Trojan War and see if it really happened or if its all just BS with all the stuff about zeus, etc.

What do you mean? If someone kills your mother then you won't exist.

yes you do exist thats my point but the person who kills your mom the moment he does so creates a paradox and exists in an alternate reality
