is that any better than jihad? should the US continue to support Israel if this is the direction is taking? Do you it would be inappropriate to have the army endorse military ministers or preachers to send to the front lines? Is it right to fight a war in the name of God ever?

just wanted to hear what other people thought of stuff like this...

I don't really think it's a good development, but religion and war have always gone hand in hand. It's always convenient to have a higher power on 'your side'. Don't quote me on it, but I think I read somewhere that a lot of people turn religious in the army. They get someone to confide in, to get strength from and to hopefully help in battle.
Israel has always been a very religious country, strategically speaking it's not a bad move to send in rabbi's to help boost morale.

Though I don't really think Israel is going all Jihad because of this, and I don't think it's a reason to stop support Israel.

@ Ganji: we could cut off support. Im sure by now they already have everything they need but we could still cut the cord.

@woutR: Whats the difference between islamic Jihad and this israeli Holy war. Jihad is just that, a holy war. If the israeli's are fighting a war that they think is backed, supported, and for the good of their God how is that any different.

Is it ok when people on our side are fighting holy wars but when people on the other side are doing it it becomes extreme and radical?

Israel is a money sink and a blemish on our world relations.

We should have cut the cord back during the OAPEC oil crisis.

According to these sources Israel is less religious than most countries. Israels government is religious but its people are not.

We already would have if we could. We have given Israel, since almost the time of their founding, annual aid without question. The total amount of aid we have just handed over is something like 100 billion for the past half century. But we'll never stop giving up free money while the lobbyists exists.
