So basically I started to work out in the gym for a few weeks so far and I think that I need to think about what I need to drink and eat.
So the question is would you say buying Protein drinks/shakes/bars/powder would help benefit me significantly towards getting a built body?
And what store should I go to get these products?
Also, I'm only 16 years old and I make around $300 a month from my part time job, so I need to get cheap products but effective ones.
Lastly, when you get pus on your hands, what do you guys do about it, just leave it there?

Go to sleep?
If you are not in good shape I guess it takes so time for your body to get used to it.

Proteins don't help you get by getting less exhausted, it makes your muscles grow more.(in some way it does)

If you want a built body, you don't need protein shakes. That's for a bulging muscles popping out of everywhere body. Just minimize reps and maximize weight for every exercise, do legs, arms, and torso interchangeably throughout a week so they have time to heal, you'll bulk up fine and then, more importantly, you can start sending me $300 a month.

Wth, pus on your hands? ._.
Anyway, just eat heathly ( less junk ) and eat alot more if you want to bulk up. Workout at least 3x a week, every week... no need for protein shakes and etc.

The purpose of protein shakes is to help get the total amount of protein you need daily. There is nothing magical about them. It's protein just like you'd find in meat. Most articles you read on building muscle recommend .8 to 1 gram of protein per pound of lean muscle mass. It's difficult to get that much sometimes by simply eating food, that's where the shakes come in. They're also a good way to get a quick and easily digestible protein source to your muscles after a workout.
Costco sells a cheap brand, EAS. Or you can order it online. I use ONs 100% Whey, 5lbs for $43.
I would stick to a protein shake a multivitamin and a consistent workout schedule.

My friend who can bench 300lbs recommends not to take any type of protein drink.
He recommends eating lots of meat, and especially eggs. They can be cooked any way, he said any food high in protein is good. Just eat it all up and drink water.

Sometimes a protein shake is quicker and easier than cooking a chicken breast. Protein is protein, basically.
A whey shake is fast digesting, good for after workouts. Casein would be good before bed, etc. Casein is slow digesting, I usually have some PB before bed.

good quality protein shakes are good. Just don't get anything wierd like something from china. you don't want to be eating fake milk.
I no this is completely off-topic but do you guys think working out stunts a guys growth? I think theres some truth to this especially when you do something that puts pressure on the spine, like deadlifting.
Plus a lot of the weightlifters and weightlift supervisors at my school are shorter than me which doesn't make me happy about working out.

Eat a lot of meat, fruits and drink water. It won't get much more complicated.

If you are 16 DON'T buy bottles with proteins which you just put in water and drink, and stuff like that which you can buy in gym stores. Because your body will stop producing proteins and other needed stuffs and you will be f*cked up xD Wait few years more, till you stop growing.

I've been thinking of starting swimming. I'm not so fit since I stopped playing soccer few years ago. Since then I've done nothing lol.

The first few times you will want to puke your guts out, like any sport... but believe me if I didn't swim i'd be 400lbs ^^
Start its a good investment trust me

If you want I can give you lesson plans to make it easier for you to train, of you dont want to take a coach ofc

Lol I've been swimming since I was like 6 years old- 9, then 14-present, and plus I am a teaching instructor in swimming lol.
Alot of these ideas are really interesting, but I'd like to get more feedback on whether the protein drinks actually help.
I would say that swimming really does make you fit but going to the gym is like more concentrated on your muscles.

Pretty much gonna say the same as Evga (he knows what he's talking about).
Protein is essential if you want to build muscle, its impossible to get any gains without protein. Protein shakes provide your body with protein. Having a protein shake is similar to eating 1 or 2 chicken breasts.
Protein shakes is a "supplement". Never forget that. It can help you, but it wont do miracles. I take them as it allows me to get a quick source of protein after working out. I cant really be bothered to cook some chicken or some kind of meal straight after a workout, which is why supplements can be so useful.

I used to go to the gym, now I train purely doing long distance, intensive, incline and fartlek training. My adivce to you if you want to be muscular and toned is to do a fare amount of cardio on top of the gym work. (That doesn't mean running on a treadmill because anyone can do that for hours on end.)
Mark out a route that takes you around a block near your house, steadily increase the distance as you become stronger and more confident.

If you wanna get fit healthy (working out at the gym) this is what you can do to improve yourself
This is one of my main diets as i play rugby need alot of protein, energy and so on soo here we go,
Workout
Warm up - jog on tredmil or cycle on medium difficulty for 10-15mins to get yourself warmed up
intense workout - do theese in sets of 3,20 bench press on what ever weight you can handle have a break and repeat 2 more times,do the same with curls sit ups lunges leg weights and soo on do this untill you are satisfied with your workout
cool down - light jog on tredmill or bycicle for 10-15mins
diet - basicly eat alot of meat, fish, fruit and veg cut the crap shit out like chocolate bars crisps fried food and soo on , drink as much liquid as you can because you dont want to be getting dehidrated when working out, also doesnt matter if you take protein bars shakes they help alot but yeh they wont do wonders remember this saying *no pain no gain*
thats what i do and im pretty impressed of my body atm

and about the puss on your hands its not puss its dry skin you can cure this by getting some weight lifting gloves cheap about £10 $20 around there

That is not the best way to bulk up. That will tone and give you muscular endurance but you aren't go to get big from it. The best way to get size is 8-10 reps for 3 sets on high weight. For getting massive go 5 reps for 5 sets on as much weight as you can.

Cross training is very good for over all good health and physical fitness. I run crosscountry for my school, and we'll run everyday, alternating between very harsh days, and slower recooperation days. Also, every other day we'll go to my schools weight room, and lift after we are done running for the day. It doesnt get you RIPPED, but gives you a very well rounded over all fitness. I swear there is no fat left anywhere hahaha xDD
