Ramadan Kareem.
This Ramadan has been somewhat difficult since there is a food shortage at home. Just two days ago I had to eat dates and chips to break my fast because nothing else was available.

Hm as long as you break your official fast you can do whatever you want. But it's wrong not to break your fast. You have to break when you hear the Ma3'rib prayer.
From where are u?

I think Muslims on the northern hemisphere are unlucky this year, ramadan is at the end of summer.
Sometimes it's much later in the year so days are shorter
