I wouldnt buy a laptop unless you really need it.
And if you really need it, don't use it for gaming.

Frankly, the AMD seems better, although it has a possibility of being slower than the Intel, I'm not sure which processor is faster.
But the AMD has a better screen in both size and power consumption (though it doesn't state battery life), and it has twice the video memory. I'm not a computer expert though, so I don't know.
Also, I agree with these folks, desktops are better, I'm just cursed with a laptop.

I have the 4650 in my Vaio FW and it will do Mirrors Edge at native (1080p) res w/ 4aa at about 25ish frames. More than adequate. I personally would go with the HP. Cheaper and better gpu. I dont know anything about futureshop but I would advise against buying at Best Buy

one of the future shop people actually told me that the Sony would be faster, because the motherboard has a better front side bus than the hp and that the hp overheats and the 4570 processes faster than the 4650 increasing frame rates. From what i have read isn't the AMD ultra made to compete with pentiums? I wasn't sure if this was true that the sony is faster so i came here to ask.

I'd just like to point out that the people at futureshop make $12 an hour. If they knew what they were talking about, they wouldn't be working for futureshop.

Don't buy HP whatever you do don't buy HP.
They suck at laptops brah they suck. Just Google HP Dv9000 problems and you'll hit the tip of the iceberg. The whole series and more was botched due to poor design and an even poorer GFX card, they responded by ignoring most of the people unlike other companies who did a recall. Finally they got hit with a class action but it didn't cover half the affected laptops and they don't give a shit.
Not only that but they've recently had to recall faulty batteries that overheat and melt computers. Of course they only did this after a fire was caused and they got sued.
My friend goes to a tech school and he and everyone there are screaming Asus if you want a quality laptop. Just don't buy HP whatever you do, worst decision of my life...
