The egg came first because the thing that laied the egg would not have evolved into what we would have called a chicken so the egg had to come first.

the only right answer fyi is nither they evolved before the egg/chicken (missing out the middle part of its evolution) was Mitosis

The egg couldn't keep itself warm enough to survive on its own, so the chicken came first. The chicken came the same way the other animals came.

Probably a slightly different species than a chicken gave birth to it's offspring without using an egg and evolved over time to become a chicken which does give birth using them.
