Laptop CPU replacement

Sup son again, I finally grew some testicles to fill my scrotum and opened up the front of my laptop, took out the keyboard, the CPU is right underneath, I just needed to take out some screws, but to do so, I had to take out 3 more ribbon cables, and I wasn't 100% sure on how to do it, so I put my comp back together, and my keyboard wasn't working! Shit! But then I tried again like 3 times, and now I understand what I was doing wrong, I wasn't locking it back into place, so now it works perfectly.
Anyways, so next step is to access my CPU & hopefully I have a dedicated GPU, and I wanted to know if laptops use the same CPUs and desktops, and how/where I can buy one. My computer is a compaq presario f750, and I used this guide as a general rule of what to do. I'd like to know if it's necessary for me to take off the monitor and remove the motherboard in order to access the CPU, & if anybody happens to know a processor which is compatible with my mother board, please don't hesitate to tell!

Thanks folks, hopefully somebody can help me.

"when in doubt, C4." - mythbusters

OT:
1. i am pretty sure laptop and desktop cpus are different
2. try taking it apart from the back first, most cpus are located at the back rather than underneath the keyboard
3. most computer hardware stores can help you order the one you need
